A new use for the same space, once the old machine is outside and gone.

Room for what comes next

Your space can have a new purpose.

A home office. Room for a guest. A little more floor to enjoy. When an old machine is in the way, a clear pickup plan makes the next step easier.

The room is changing.

Book the equipment you are ready to let go of, whether it is one exercise bike or several machines. See the total before making the plan.

A replacement is coming.

Check whether your retailer includes removal. If the old treadmill is still your responsibility, give it a pickup day of its own.

It is not making the move.

Settle the price online, arrange to have it outside, and follow the pickup through text updates and completion photos. One less thing to coordinate before the keys change hands.

Match the machine

The right choice covers the right equipment.

Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.

Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?

Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.

An exercise bike, elliptical or rower

Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.

Weights, racks and benches

Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Ready for pickup

Plan the move outside before pickup day.

A machine can be too heavy or awkward for a solo move. Arrange suitable help for indoor carrying, stairs or any dismantling needed to reach the outdoor pickup spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Your place. One easy pickup plan.

A house, a condo or an apartment. Choose an accessible outdoor spot that works for your property. You arrange the move outside; we take it from there.

Exercise equipment

Special rules apply

No Jonesboro page names an exercise machine, and a treadmill is too large for the city cart, so the route is confirmed with the Sanitation Department before the machine is loaded. The two plausible destinations are the monthly Community Clean-Up, which takes bulky junk, and the Legacy Landfill.

City cost & eligibility
No published rate covers an exercise machine. Community Clean-Up events are free and the landfill does not charge Jonesboro residents for household solid waste, but exercise equipment is not named in either list, so Sanitation confirms the route and any charge at 870-932-7520.
When & how
Call Sanitation at 870-932-7520 before the machine moves, then use the confirmed route on a clean-up Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. to noon or during landfill gate hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Get it ready
Fold or tie down the deck and handles and take the console and any battery pack off so the electronics do not travel with the frame. Keep the machine out of the cart and off the curb, and tarp the load for a landfill trip.

Right item.
Right place.

Everything goes inside the cart with the lid closed

Bag and tie household trash, put the bags inside the city container with the lid closed, and wheel the cart within five feet of the street edge with the arrows facing out. Put it out no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the day before and no later than 6:00 a.m. on the collection day, keep it five feet from mailboxes and vehicles and out from under basketball goals or high wires, and take it back in within 24 hours.

Bulk waste never goes to the curb

The sanitation ordinance states plainly that no bulk waste shall be placed curbside and that no bagged or loose trash may sit outside the residential container, and the automated trucks collect only what is inside the cart. Break down boxes and large pieces of cardboard, keep yard waste out of the container and out of a recycling bag, and route furniture, bedding and appliances to the landfill instead.

Tarp the load and strip the compressor before the landfill gate

State law requires every load arriving at Legacy Landfill to be tarped and secured, and only waste from Craighead County is accepted. An appliance or air conditioning unit must have its compressor removed before disposal, hydraulic trailers need working batteries, and construction material is the one residential load a Jonesboro address pays for at the gate.

Monthly Community Clean-Up with the City of Jonesboro

A household with bulky junk, meaning items too large for a standard trash bin, plus glass and paper to drop off on a Saturday morning.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free events open to Jonesboro residents, one Saturday a month from 8:00 a.m. to noon at a rotating site.
Arrange it
Load the vehicle and go to that month's location, which the city lists in advance: 2650 Lacy Drive for February, March, July, November and December, and neighbourhood sites such as First United Methodist Church on South Main in April, Annie Camp Jr. High in May, Fisher Street United Methodist in June, Llamados Por El Rey Church in August, Parker Park in September and Magnolia Road Church in October.

No event is scheduled in January 2026, lawn debris is not accepted at the Lacy Drive site on clean-up Saturdays, and the city says detailed acceptable and non-acceptable items are shared before each event, so confirm anything unusual.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Jonesboro households do their own hauling for anything the cart will not hold. The Legacy Landfill at 238 County Road 476, just off Highway 1 South, is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., takes waste from Craighead County only, and requires every load to be tarped and secured because state law requires it. Furniture, bedding, appliances, computers and construction material all go there, appliances and air conditioning units must have the compressor removed first, and Jonesboro residents do not pay for household solid waste disposal, with construction material the one charged residential load at the published per-ton rate plus sales tax with a minimum. Electronics have a second no-fee drop-off listed by the landfill at Abilities Unlimited, 806 Burke Avenue in Jonesboro, and tires are handled through the county tire collection center at the landfill, where Craighead County residents receive a monthly allowance. The monthly Community Clean-Up takes bulky junk along with glass and paper on a Saturday morning at the site the city publishes for that month. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Exercise equipment removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Jonesboro.

How much does exercise equipment removal cost in Jonesboro?

A household treadmill is $159 as the first item and $85 additional. An elliptical is $159 first and $85 additional; an exercise bike is $119 first and $40 additional. Choose all your items to see the combined price. Loading, transportation and disposal are included, with any applicable sales tax shown before payment.

Can you pick up a treadmill or exercise bike today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the equipment outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; we book a day rather than an exact appointment time.

Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?

Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.

How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?

Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.

Will Jonesboro take a treadmill?

Not at the curb, and exercise equipment is not named in the city's bulky or landfill lists, so call the Sanitation Department at 870-932-7520 first. The likely routes are a free monthly Community Clean-Up, which takes bulky junk, or the Legacy Landfill, which takes household solid waste from Jonesboro residents without charge.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Jonesboro?

The City of Jonesboro Sanitation Department does, from 2601 Dan Avenue, on a designated weekday between Monday and Friday. Household trash, recycling and yard waste all come on that one day, the cart has to be out by 6:00 a.m., and questions or a missing cart go to 870-932-7520. Collection schedule changes for holidays or bad weather are announced on the city's Facebook page.Official guidance

Why will the city not take my furniture from the curb?

Because Jonesboro keeps bulk waste out of the curbside program. The sanitation ordinance states that no bulk waste shall be placed curbside, and the city directs large or bulky items like furniture to the Legacy Landfill, which takes household solid waste from Jonesboro residents without charge.Official guidance
