Information We Collect

When you use Dropcurb, we collect:

  • Contact Information: Name, phone number, email address
  • Address Information: Pickup address, zip code, city
  • Order Details: Items for pickup, photos, pricing, pickup date
  • Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe; we do not store card numbers
  • Device Information: IP address, browser type, for analytics and fraud prevention

How We Use Your Information

  • To process and fulfill your junk removal orders
  • To communicate with you about your pickup via SMS and email
  • To send booking confirmations and driver updates
  • To send promotional offers (with your consent)
  • To prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
  • To improve our services and customer experience
  • To comply with legal obligations

Information Sharing

We share the minimum information necessary with:

  • Independent haulers assigned to your pickup, so they can fulfill the service
  • Service providers: Stripe (payment), Twilio (SMS), Supabase (data storage), Vercel (hosting)
  • Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights

We do not sell your personal information. Each third-party processor has its own privacy policy governing its handling of your data.

SMS Communications

When you provide your phone number and consent to SMS messaging:

  • We send booking confirmations, driver updates, and quotes
  • Message frequency varies (typically 2–5 per booking)
  • Standard message and data rates may apply
  • Reply STOP to opt out at any time
  • Reply HELP for assistance

Data Retention

We retain order records for up to seven (7) years for tax, accounting, and legal-compliance purposes. Marketing data is retained until you opt out. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us; we will respond within 45 days of a verifiable request, subject to legal retention obligations.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Opt out of SMS messages (reply STOP)
  • Request a copy of your information in a portable format

To exercise these rights, email support@dropcurb.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may ask for verification to confirm your identity before processing.

State Privacy Rights

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive consumer-privacy laws have additional rights, including the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected and the purpose of collection
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information
  • Be free from retaliation for exercising these rights
  • Appeal a denied privacy request

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. Dropcurb does not sell personal information in exchange for money. Dropcurb does not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, we will update this notice and provide an opt-out mechanism.

Authorized agents: you may designate an authorized agent to submit privacy requests on your behalf. We will require written authorization and may verify your identity directly.

To submit a state-privacy request, email support@dropcurb.com with the subject line "State Privacy Request" and identify the state of your residency. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law (typically 45 days).

Children's Privacy

Dropcurb is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. Data is encrypted in transit. Payment information is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS-certified processor, and is not stored on our servers. No system is perfectly secure; we notify affected users of material security incidents where required by law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
