What time do carts have to be out?+
The city publishes two times, so use the earlier one: the garbage collection page says garbage and recycling carts must be in place by 4 a.m. on the scheduled service day, while the services page says recycling carts must be in place by 5 a.m. Collection times vary through the day, and a cart that is not out on time is not counted as a missed pickup.Official guidance
Where can I take an appliance instead of setting it out?+
To the city-parish white goods drop-off at the EBRP North Landfill, 16001 Samuels Road in Zachary, open 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Cash and cheque payments are only taken between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, so arrive inside that window if paying that way.Official guidance
What cannot be recycled with electronics?+
CRTs, household batteries, appliances and furniture, light bulbs of any kind, media such as tapes and discs, DVD and CD players and VCRs, MP3 players, cameras and video recorders, stereo equipment, speakers, ballasts, and toner and ink jet cartridges are all refused by the Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council. When are the household hazardous material days?+
The Recycling Office holds semi-annual collection days in the spring and fall and does not accept business waste. The Fall 2026 date and location are published as still to be determined, so the exact date has to be checked before a trip.
