Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions and electronics

Accepted with preparation

The city answers its own question about computers by pointing at the Legacy Landfill, and the county landfill's recycling page lists two electronics drop-offs: the landfill itself, where fees may apply, and Abilities Unlimited at 806 Burke in Jonesboro, which takes electronics with no fees.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Electronics drop-off at Abilities Unlimited, 806 Burke Avenue in Jonesboro, listed by the county landfill as a no-fee site; the landfill also takes electronics during gate hours with fees that may apply.
When & how
Drop devices at 806 Burke Avenue, or bring them to the Legacy Landfill during gate hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and confirm the hours of the Burke Avenue site before a first trip.
Get it ready
Wipe the drive or reset the device and keep the screen whole, because a broken tube is a handling hazard. Never put electronics in the recycling cart, which takes only paper, cardboard, cans and plastics numbered one and two, and keep them out of the trash container as well.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Everything goes inside the cart with the lid closed

Bag and tie household trash, put the bags inside the city container with the lid closed, and wheel the cart within five feet of the street edge with the arrows facing out. Put it out no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the day before and no later than 6:00 a.m. on the collection day, keep it five feet from mailboxes and vehicles and out from under basketball goals or high wires, and take it back in within 24 hours.

Bulk waste never goes to the curb

The sanitation ordinance states plainly that no bulk waste shall be placed curbside and that no bagged or loose trash may sit outside the residential container, and the automated trucks collect only what is inside the cart. Break down boxes and large pieces of cardboard, keep yard waste out of the container and out of a recycling bag, and route furniture, bedding and appliances to the landfill instead.

Tarp the load and strip the compressor before the landfill gate

State law requires every load arriving at Legacy Landfill to be tarped and secured, and only waste from Craighead County is accepted. An appliance or air conditioning unit must have its compressor removed before disposal, hydraulic trailers need working batteries, and construction material is the one residential load a Jonesboro address pays for at the gate.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Jonesboro households do their own hauling for anything the cart will not hold. The Legacy Landfill at 238 County Road 476, just off Highway 1 South, is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., takes waste from Craighead County only, and requires every load to be tarped and secured because state law requires it. Furniture, bedding, appliances, computers and construction material all go there, appliances and air conditioning units must have the compressor removed first, and Jonesboro residents do not pay for household solid waste disposal, with construction material the one charged residential load at the published per-ton rate plus sales tax with a minimum. Electronics have a second no-fee drop-off listed by the landfill at Abilities Unlimited, 806 Burke Avenue in Jonesboro, and tires are handled through the county tire collection center at the landfill, where Craighead County residents receive a monthly allowance. The monthly Community Clean-Up takes bulky junk along with glass and paper on a Saturday morning at the site the city publishes for that month. The county landfill that takes Jonesboro's furniture, bedding, appliances, computers and construction material

Legacy Landfill (Craighead County Landfill)

238 County Road 476, Jonesboro, AR 72404, just off Highway 1 South

Waste from Craighead County only, including household solid waste, furniture, bedding, appliances and air conditioning units with the compressor removed, electronics, construction material, and tires at the county tire collection center.

Every load must be tarped and secured because state law requires it, all appliances and A/C units must have the compressor removed before disposal, hydraulic trailers must have working batteries and be fully functional, construction material is the one residential load Jonesboro addresses pay for, and the gate takes cards with a transaction fee rather than cash alone.

Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with posted holiday closures such as Thanksgiving on November 26 and 27, 2026.

From $10 per load minimum covering the first 420 pounds, with the published rate of $44.75 per ton plus 7.5% sales tax above that and a card transaction fee. Jonesboro residents do not pay for household solid waste disposal at the landfill unless the load is construction material; business loads are charged, and tipping fees are adjusted every March.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Jonesboro.

How much does TV removal cost in Jonesboro?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Jonesboro?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can a Jonesboro household take old computers?

The city's own answer is the Legacy Landfill at 238 County Road 476, and the county landfill's recycling page adds a second, no-fee electronics drop-off at Abilities Unlimited, 806 Burke Avenue in Jonesboro. The landfill takes electronics during its gate hours and may charge a fee for them.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Jonesboro?

The City of Jonesboro Sanitation Department does, from 2601 Dan Avenue, on a designated weekday between Monday and Friday. Household trash, recycling and yard waste all come on that one day, the cart has to be out by 6:00 a.m., and questions or a missing cart go to 870-932-7520. Collection schedule changes for holidays or bad weather are announced on the city's Facebook page.Official guidance

How does Jonesboro recycling work?

The city runs its own program and issues 65-gallon recycling carts, which are ordered by phone at 870-932-3042 or in person at City Collections, 300 S. Church Street. Recycling takes plastics numbered one and two, aluminum or steel cans, newspaper, office paper, junk mail and corrugated or light cardboard, and the cart sticker sets the schedule: yellow for the first and third week of the month, orange for the second and fourth, both on the trash day.Official guidance

How does a Jonesboro household get rid of paint?

Dry it out first. The city's answer is to pour kitty litter, newspaper or sand into the can, leave the lid off for a couple of days, and then take the hardened can to the landfill. Liquid paint is refused in the cart, and liquids of any kind are not accepted in curbside collection.Official guidance
