Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition debris

Special rules apply

Brea requires a Green Halo waste management plan and at least 65 per cent diversion on construction and demolition projects, with approval before permits and a compliance report before the final inspection.

City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no per-load construction rate. The waste management plan names authorized facilities, container hire comes from the franchise hauler and any self-haul drop-off fees are set by the facility, so confirm the container and the current facility charges before the work starts.
When & how
Create the project in the Green Halo portal, list the estimated recycled, reused and disposed quantities, choose the hauling method and authorized facilities, and submit for approval, which is required before permit issuance. Upload weight tickets as the job runs and submit the final file for the compliance report before the final building inspection and Certificate of Occupancy.
Get it ready
Separate lumber, drywall, metals, masonry, carpet, plastic, pipe, rocks, dirt, paper, cardboard and green waste so each stream can be recycled. Order the container from Republic Services at (714) 238-2444 because third party bins are not allowed on job sites under City Ordinance No. 990, and if you self-haul, use your own company vehicles, equipment and employees, use the authorized facilities in the plan and keep weight tickets with an origin of Brea.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

The black cart is not the route for large pieces

The trash cart is for everything that is not recyclable, but its unacceptable list names appliances, bulk items, electronics, batteries, fluorescent tubes and lights, concrete, construction debris, dirt, liquids, oil, grease, mirrors, sharps and hazardous or medical waste. Large pieces therefore leave on the bulky item pickup and electronics on the e-waste pickup, both arranged with Republic Services at (714) 238-2444.

Household hazardous waste and sharps go to a centre

Household hazardous waste cannot be placed in the trash and goes to a County of Orange collection centre, which is open to county residents on proof of residency, Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed on rainy days and major holidays. A maximum of 15 gallons or 125 pounds may be brought per vehicle per visit, containers need lids and must be sturdy and non-leaking, and empty cans are dried out and put in the regular trash. Used sharps go into a sealed, labelled strong plastic container and are taken to the Anaheim centre at 1071 N Blue Gum St, which the city says is free for county residents.

City of Brea and Republic Services

Use a County of Orange collection centre

Orange County households with household hazardous waste such as paint, oil, batteries, light bulbs and chemicals, or with electronics that are easier to drop off than to schedule.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes no centre fee and only states that the sharps service at the Anaheim centre is at no charge for county residents, so confirm the current terms with Orange County Waste and Recycling at 714-834-4000 before you load.
Arrange it
Take the material to one of the county regional collection centres in Anaheim, Huntington Beach, San Juan Capistrano or Irvine, open Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed on rainy days and major holidays.

Orange County residents only on proof of residency, and household hazardous waste is not accepted from businesses, schools, government agencies, churches or non-profit organisations. Maximum 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle per visit, containers must have lids and be sturdy and non-leaking, material stays in its original container except motor oil and antifreeze, and oil based paint is never mixed with latex paint.

City of Brea and Republic Services

Order the franchise hauler's container for a project

Brea construction and demolition projects that have filed a waste management plan and need a container on site.

Cost & conditions
Republic Services quotes container and processing charges directly and the city publishes no rate, so confirm the size and the current charge at (714) 238-2444.
Arrange it
Call Republic Services at (714) 238-2444 to order the container, and remember that the city requires the hauler to remove recyclable material before anything reaches the landfill.

Third party bins are not allowed on job sites under City Ordinance No. 990, and the project still has to file the Green Halo waste management plan, keep weight tickets and pass the final compliance review before the final building inspection.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Brea runs the routes through Republic Services, and almost everything unusual starts with a call to (714) 238-2444. The three carts take everyday material, but the black trash cart refuses appliances, bulk items, electronics, batteries, fluorescent tubes, concrete, construction debris, dirt, liquids and sharps. Large pieces go on a bulky item pickup, with three free collections a year of up to twenty items each, and electronic waste has its own pickup with no limit. Mattresses can also go back to a retailer or through the county mattress recycling route, and household hazardous waste, including paint, oil and batteries, goes to a County of Orange collection centre rather than any cart. A renovation project files a Green Halo waste management plan with at least 65 per cent diversion and uses the franchise hauler's containers. County household hazardous waste centre

Anaheim Regional Collection Center

1071 N Blue Gum St, Anaheim, CA

Household hazardous waste from Orange County residents, and used sharps in a strong plastic container such as an empty laundry detergent or bleach bottle, sealed with duct tape and labelled DO NOT RECYCLE.

Orange County residents only, on proof of residency, with no household hazardous waste accepted from businesses, schools, government agencies, churches or non-profit organisations. A maximum of 15 gallons or 125 pounds may be brought per vehicle per visit, containers are not returned, and every container must be sturdy, non-leaking, protected from breakage and fitted with a lid. Household hazardous waste is never mixed or combined, except that similar paints may be consolidated, empty cans are dried out and put in the regular trash, and oil based paint is never mixed with latex paint.

Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed on rainy days and major holidays.

The city publishes no centre fee and states only that the sharps service at this Anaheim centre is offered to Orange County residents at no charge, so confirm the current terms with Orange County Waste and Recycling at 714-834-4000.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Brea.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Brea?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Brea?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

What does a Brea renovation have to file?

A construction and demolition waste management plan through the Green Halo portal, with the diversion requirement at a minimum of 65 per cent under CALGreen and the city's Title 8 Chapter 8.29. The plan has to be approved by Public Works before any permits are issued, weight tickets are uploaded as the project runs, and the final compliance report has to be approved before the final building inspection and Certificate of Occupancy. Third party bins are not allowed on job sites, so containers come from Republic Services at (714) 238-2444.Official guidance

Where do Brea paint, oil and batteries go?

Never in the trash. Household hazardous waste goes to a County of Orange collection centre, which takes material from county residents on proof of residency, Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a maximum of 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle per visit. Containers need lids, stay in their original container except motor oil and antifreeze, and oil based paint is never mixed with latex paint.Official guidance
