Get it ready
Keep the mattress under 100 pounds and no longer than eight feet in any dimension, keep it dry and out of the garbage and recycling carts, and set it at the curb only after the pickup is confirmed.
Collection routes start at 5 a.m., so put carts within three feet of the curb by then, or set them out the night before. Garbage, yard and food waste and recycling all run on the same hauler schedule, and residential recycling is collected every other week rather than weekly.
