Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named on the city's acceptable or unacceptable lists, so a treadmill or weight machine has to be confirmed with the hauler before it goes out, and the city refuses anything a two-person crew cannot handle.

No published entry covers an exercise machine. Confirm the item with Burrtec at (661) 222-2249, and note the city refuses any item requiring more than two persons to handle safely, which rules out an oversized machine.
When & how
Call before booking, and if the machine is accepted put it out no earlier than 7:00 p.m. the evening before a scheduled pickup, within the three item allowance.
Get it ready
Describe the machine, its size and its weight when calling, take the console or battery pack off so the electronics can go to the drop-off instead, and keep the frame off the curb until the item is confirmed.
A pickup booked 48 hours ahead, or a free drop-off
Santa Clarita households choose between a scheduled pickup and a drive to the hauler. The pickup is booked at least 48 hours before the regular collection day through Burrtec at (661) 222-2249 or its website, allows three large items or ten 32-gallon bags, and runs up to four times a calendar year; the items go to the curb no earlier than 7:00 p.m. the evening before. The drop-off is at 25950 Springbrook Ave, Suite 202, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the third Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, where the resident checks in with an address and identification. Either route can be repeated up to four times a year at no additional cost.
