When & how
Call Athens Services at (888) 336-6100 to schedule, or submit a bulky item request online. Athens encourages donating or reusing furniture before requesting a pickup.
Get it ready
Do not set furniture out before the pickup is scheduled, because the automated collection truck cannot take it and Athens asks residents not to put bulky items in a container.
Carts out by 6 a.m., never before 6 p.m. the day before
All containers go out by 6:00 a.m. on the collection day and no sooner than 6:00 p.m. the day before, because the City's designated collection day is the 24-hour period from 6:00 p.m. the day before to 6:00 p.m. the day of collection under WMC 8.12.140. Containers are placed in the street with lids closed or in the alley, wheels against the curb, about a foot apart and at least three feet from parked vehicles.
Empty carts come off the street and out of public view
Remove every refuse and recycling container from the curb or alley once it is emptied. Except for the large 300-gallon alley containers, containers have to leave the public right-of-way and be stored on private property where they are not visible from the front or sides of the property.
A weekday holiday shifts collection one day for the rest of the week
Trash, recycling and green waste are collected as regularly scheduled except on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Whenever one of those holidays falls on a weekday, the schedule is delayed one day for the remainder of that week.

How do I book a sectional for removal?+
Open Sectional in the sofa choices, count its structural sections, and select any sleeper or reclining feature. Count the sections with their own bases, not loose cushions. The matching catalog choice covers one complete sectional of that configuration. Text a photo before booking if you are unsure.
Will you carry my couch out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. Arrange for the sofa to be moved through the apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load and haul it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Arrange any dismantling needed to get it outside beforehand.
Do I need to wait at home for couch pickup?+
You do not need to be home when your booked sofa is outside and accessible. Add photos and pickup-location notes to your order so the right pieces are easy to identify. We send updates and completion photos. Confirm any building access restrictions with us before booking.
