A mattress is recycled through Spring Back Colorado for a published fee per piece, and the Sedalia Landfill also takes mattresses at its own per piece rate.

From $40 for the fee Spring Back Colorado publishes per mattress or box spring recycled, while the Sedalia Landfill publishes a higher per piece rate and Urban Recycling Colorado is listed by the county without a published price. Castle Pines households delivering to Spring Back Colorado in Commerce City or arranging its pickup. Confirm the current fee and the appointment, and ask the other two named routes for their own prices.

Call Spring Back Colorado at 720-515-1328 to arrange a drop-off at 4975 Pontiac Street in Commerce City or a pickup, call Urban Recycling Colorado at 719-644-6493, or take the mattress to the Sedalia Landfill during its posted hours.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and keep it whole, and keep a mattress out of a curbside pile unless the hauler has confirmed it will take it, because the city publishes no bulky item route.

Construction and demolition debris in wood, aluminium, steel and concrete; shingles and drywall; building materials including lumber, doors, cabinets, windows and fencing; plastic and cardboard; furniture and appliances with Freon recovery; inert solids including earth, gravel, sand and asphalt; non-putrescible solid waste; leaves; auto tires off the rim; and mattresses.
Residential and restaurant waste, food waste, paint, pesticides, auto fluids, liquid waste, hazardous and radioactive waste, medical waste, batteries, electronic waste such as televisions, computers, phones, radios and printers, asbestos, dead animals, manure and fresh grass clippings are refused. Every load is weighed, payment is by cash or credit card only with no checks, and hand unloads and pull-offs stop half an hour before closing.

From $106 for the base rate charge per ton published by the landfill, with asphalt and wood shake shingles priced by the yard, a published Freon recovery fee on an appliance and job specific rates available on request. You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. When can I take hazardous waste and electronics to GreenWorks?+
Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., year round and weather permitting, with the last appointment at 4:30 p.m. and the site closed on Sunday and on county holidays. What do I do with yard debris?+
Two free options. The county's slash-mulch and green yard waste site at 5675 Delva Way in Sedalia takes brush, grass, leaves, natural mulch, pine needles, pinecones, sawdust, shrubs, sod, tree limbs and weeds year round with no appointment, as long as the load is covered and none of it is lumber, pallets, dirt, stumps, construction debris or anything with nails or wire. Where does old paint go?+
Paint is accepted free at the GreenWorks household hazardous waste drop-off with an appointment, within the container limits, and the county also points to the statewide paint stewardship program, where most drop-off sites take up to five gallons a visit and all paint retailers accept smaller quantities for free.
