  1. Check what your delivery includes.

If a new mattress is arriving, check whether your retailer is taking the old one. If you need Dropcurb, choose a day when you can have it outside. A delivery window and a pickup day are different arrangements.

  2. Arrange the trip outside.

Plan for doorways, elevators and interior stairs before pickup day. You arrange any indoor carrying. Use a permitted outdoor location and keep entrances and the walking path open.

  3. Make the right mattress easy to find.

Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. Add a location photo and clear access notes so your hauler can identify exactly what is going.

Mattresses and box springs

Accepted with preparation

Mattresses and box springs are named explicitly among the popular items on the Village's large item pickup list, so bedding is scheduled with Public Works rather than left at the curb unannounced.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the Village large item pickup for eligible households that receive Village-provided trash and recycling service, arranged in advance with Public Works.
When & how
Call Public Works at 303-708-6100 to schedule the pickup and put the unit at the curb in the street on the agreed day, weather permitting.
Get it ready
Keep the unit dry and out of the carts, leave it off the driveway, and keep anything from a paid service out of the same pickup, because the Village does not collect waste generated by paid services.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Nothing goes to the curb before Public Works is called

The Village asks residents to call Public Works at 303-708-6100 before placing items out, and the service is limited to eligible households that receive Village-provided trash and recycling service in the first place. Items go along the curb in the street out of the way of traffic and pedestrians rather than in the driveway, and a snow or ice event can delay the pickup until snow operations finish.

A long refused list applies to every Village pickup

Recyclable material including cardboard boxes, commercial or contractor waste, concrete and asphalt, roofing and siding, fences and decks, drywall, landscaping material such as sod, soil, mulch, bark, rock and pavers, tires, anything longer than ten feet, and items generated from a project requiring a building permit apart from non-contractor plumbing, mechanical and electrical work are all unacceptable on the large item pickup. Waste or debris generated from paid services is not collected either.

Weekly carts by 7 a.m., chemicals never

Waste Connections collects residential trash and recycling from eligible properties, and containers go to the curb by 7 a.m. on the scheduled day or the pickup can be missed. Hazardous material stays out of every cart and off the large item pile, because the Village states that oil-based paint, pesticides, gasoline and propane tanks cannot be picked up by the trash company or through large item pickup and belong on the At Your Door line instead.

Arrange it
Call Public Works at 303-708-6100 to schedule and then place the items at the curb in the street on the agreed day.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Greenwood Village works by appointment rather than by drop-off, so there is no Village yard or transfer station with published hours. The large item pickup covers odd-sized and heavy household items such as furniture, mattresses and box springs, rugs, hot water heaters and branches cut to ten feet or less, and it is arranged by calling Public Works at 303-708-6100; the same number schedules the Village's appliance and electronic waste pickup, which names stoves and ovens, refrigerators, electronic exercise equipment, flat screen televisions, computers and gaming systems. Household hazardous waste such as paint, house and yard chemicals, automotive products, propane tanks and sharps is collected through the contracted At Your Door Special Collection service at 800-449-7587 and cannot go in the trash or the large item pile. Weekly trash and recycling are collected by Waste Connections for eligible residential properties with containers at the curb by 7 a.m., and every Village route refuses construction and demolition debris, concrete and asphalt, roofing, siding, fencing, decking, drywall, landscaping material, tires, anything longer than ten feet and any debris generated by a paid service, so those loads need a private container. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Greenwood Village.

How much does mattress removal cost in Greenwood Village?

The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Greenwood Village?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.

Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?

The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.

Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.

Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?

You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.

Will Greenwood Village take a mattress?

Household hazardous waste is handled by the Village's contractor, At Your Door Special Collection, at 800-449-7587.Official guidance

Recyclable material, contractor waste, concrete and asphalt, roofing and siding, fences and decks, drywall, landscaping material, tires and anything over ten feet are refused.Official guidance
