Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

  1. Arrange the removal work

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

  2. Keep the booked items separate

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Use a permitted outdoor spot with a clear path. Add a location photo and notes on your order page so the right entrance and the right items are easy to identify.

Construction material, dirt and sod

Special rules apply

Heavy material such as dirt, sod, brick, concrete or rock is prohibited in the cart, so a project load needs a landfill trip on the county voucher or a private roll off container.

City cost & eligibility
There is no municipal construction collection. The county large item voucher covers one truckload level with the bed rails or one trailer load of up to one ton at the North Weld, Buffalo Ridge or Front Range landfill at no charge between March 2 and October 31, 2026, and any additional weight or volume is billed to the resident at the landfill gate, so ask the landfill for its per ton figure or price a private roll off container for a larger project.
When & how
Collect a voucher from a county household hazardous waste facility or the county health department in Greeley, then make one trip during the voucher window, or order a private container before the project starts.
Get it ready
Keep dirt, sod, brick, concrete and rock out of the trash cart entirely, because the cart rules prohibit them. Ask the landfill what it accepts and what it charges per ton before a heavier load arrives, and keep clean material separated so it can be diverted rather than buried.

Waste Connections for the Town of Johnstown, with Weld County running the household hazardous waste facilities and the large item voucher

Use the free Weld County large item voucher

A household with a mattress, a couch, a table, an appliance sized item or a heavy load that it can drive to a landfill in one trip.

Cost & conditions
No charge. The voucher covers one truckload level with the bed rails or one trailer load up to one ton at no charge, and any additional weight or volume is billed to the resident at the landfill gate. The program runs from March 2 to October 31, 2026 and vouchers are limited.
Arrange it
Collect a voucher at the Greeley household hazardous waste facility at 1311 North 17th Avenue, the Dacono facility at 5500 Highway 52, or the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment at 1555 N. 17th Ave. in Greeley, then take the load to the North Weld Landfill in Ault, the Buffalo Ridge Landfill in Keenesburg or the Front Range Landfill in Erie.

One trip only, within the weight and volume limit, and the resident pays anything over it. Landfill hours and acceptable items come from the landfill rather than the voucher page, so call ahead at 970-686-2800 for North Weld, 303-732-4379 for Buffalo Ridge or 303-637-9431 for Front Range.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Johnstown leaves most of the hauling to Waste Connections but gives residents two ways to move a large item. Waste Connections collects a scheduled bulk item such as furniture or carpet for a published charge per item with at least 48 hours notice, and Weld County issues a free large item disposal voucher for one truck or trailer load up to one ton at the North Weld Landfill in Ault, the Buffalo Ridge Landfill in Keenesburg or the Front Range Landfill in Erie, valid from March 2 to October 31, 2026. A mattress, couch or table is named in the voucher program, and anything heavier than the one ton limit is billed at the landfill gate. Household hazardous products such as paint, cleaners, pesticides, motor oil, antifreeze and batteries go free to the county facility at 1311 North 17th Avenue in Greeley on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at 5500 Highway 52 in Dacono on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no container over five gallons, nothing in plastic bags, and a 200 pound daily limit per household. Appliances go to a scrap or appliance service, and a unit with Freon may need its coolant professionally removed by a certified technician first. Electronics go to a certified electronics recycler on the state list, and tires are prohibited in the cart, so they go back to a tire retailer. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Johnstown.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Johnstown?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Johnstown?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

How do I get rid of dirt, concrete or construction debris in Johnstown?

Not in the trash cart, because dirt, sod, brick, concrete and rock are prohibited there. A project load goes to a Weld County landfill, where the free large item voucher covers one truck or trailer load up to one ton during the voucher window, or into a private roll off container ordered before the work starts.Official guidance

Who handles trash and recycling in Johnstown?

Waste Connections collects trash and recycling under a town contract, and the service is billed on the Johnstown utility statement along with water and sewer. Service changes and billing questions go to utilitybilling@johnstownco.gov or Town Hall at 970-587-4664, and Waste Connections customer service is at 303-288-2100.Official guidance

What does a bulk item pickup cost and how is it scheduled?

The town publishes a bulk item pickup charge of 15.00 per item, scheduled by calling Waste Connections at 303-288-2100 with at least 48 hours notice, and it notes there may be additional charges. The alternative is the county's free large item voucher, which covers one truck or trailer load up to one ton during the voucher window.Official guidance

Where does household hazardous waste go?

To one of the two Weld County facilities free of charge: 1311 North 17th Avenue in Greeley on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or 5500 Highway 52 in Dacono on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Containers have to be intact and no larger than five gallons, nothing can come in plastic bags, and the limit is 200 pounds per household per day.Official guidance

What cannot go in the Johnstown trash cart?

Motor oil, tires, batteries, herbicides, pesticides, acids, dead animals, dirt, sod, brick, concrete, rock, hot ashes, coals, and flammable material such as solvents, oil, gas or liquid paint. Trash also has to stay below the lid and be bagged and tied, with the cart curbside by 7 a.m. and two feet of clear space around it.Official guidance
