The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Electronics go to the Rooney Road Recycling Center, which is a certified e-waste recycler and accepts anything with a cord for a per pound charge. E-waste is also barred from the curbside recycling stream.

Follow the city code for carts and keep recyclables clean
Containers must not obstruct the street or sidewalk on collection day, have to be taken back to the residence in a timely manner, and may not sit at the curb more than 48 consecutive hours in a week. Bag trash, never bag recyclables, keep them clean, empty and dry, break down cardboard, and keep pet waste, diapers, soft plastics, food scraps, foam, e-waste and hazardous waste out of the recycling cart.
Two shared drop offs take the items a hauler will not
The Quail Street Recycling Center at 1068 Quail St. takes sorted, clean, dry cardboard, scrap metal, aluminium beverage cans, paper, glass bottles and jars and plastic bottles free of charge, with cardboard cut to a maximum of 3 feet by 5 feet, the load limited to a standard car or small pickup and no trailers allowed. Electronics, paint, batteries, motor oil and antifreeze go to the Rooney Road Recycling Center in Jefferson County by appointment, where paint is free through PaintCare and electronics are charged by the pound.
