When & how
Take the machine to the Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County Road 5 in Erie during its open hours, or include it in a voucher load between October 12 and October 24 for the fall event.
Get it ready
Remove the computer and any battery before the piece leaves the house, because the landfill accepts a treadmill only without its computer and electronic waste is refused there. Fold or tie down the frame where it allows it, and cover the load.
Register for the voucher, bring the voucher or the emailed identification number, and keep the load to one vehicle or one trailer with items up to one ton. Cover and secure everything, because the landfill charges double for an uncovered load, and wear a high visibility safety vest if you leave the vehicle, since the town covers one vest per household and extra vests are available on site for a fee.
Cover and secure the load before arrival, keep hazardous waste, liquids, tires, propane containers, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, electronics and refrigerant appliances out of it entirely, and separate clean soil, yard material and mixed debris so each part is billed at its own rate. Anyone who leaves the vehicle has to be wearing a reflective vest, and payment is by credit or debit card.

Arrange it
