If an item is not on the published list, call customer service for a price rather than guessing, and remember that self hauling to a county facility is the alternative.
Large appliances are 50.00 per item on the curbside list, and appliances can also be self hauled to a Community Collection Center.

Get it ready
Drain the oil and gas from a lawn mower, keep the unit empty, and prepare a refrigeration unit so it can be handled safely. At a Community Collection Center the bulky waste and appliance load has to be unloaded by hand and a dump trailer is not allowed.
Request the bulky pickup before the item goes to the curb
A large item is not part of the weekly route until it is scheduled: the county asks residents to call Solid Waste Customer Service at 813-272-5680 and make the request before placing trash at the curbside for collection, and each item is then priced off the published 30.00 and 50.00 list.
Self hauling needs county paperwork and hand unloading

No charge. Residential customers receive 10 cubic yards of disposal for bulky waste and appliances a year as part of their annual assessment, with the allowance resetting on October 1, and up to 12 tires a year are also included. Once the allowance is used, material has to go to a county transfer station or the Southeast County Landfill at commercial disposal charges.
Arrange it
Use the Northwest County Solid Waste Facility at 8001 W. Linebaugh Avenue in Tampa, or any of the other four centers, open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a photo ID and a copy of the property tax bill for bulky waste, appliances and tires.
Bulky waste has to be unloaded by hand, no dump trailers are allowed, and the 10 cubic yard allowance is about a double axle trailer load or a loaded box truck while a loaded pickup truck carries only about two cubic yards. Paint and electronics need only a photo ID, and electronics are not accepted at the hazardous waste collections.

Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
