Households using a Glynn County drop-off center, which accepts all waste types except curbside recycling, with proof of the load and payment in cash or by check at the per load sites. Confirm the item with the receiving facility first, because the county tells customers to contact the facility about acceptable materials.

Get it ready
Ask the receiving facility whether the specific device is accepted before loading, keep electronics out of the bulky pickup if the county confirms they are not part of it, and note that hazardous waste is refused at both the drop-off centers and the WM transfer station, so chemicals travel separately. Georgia's environmental agency states that household hazardous waste options in the state are extremely limited, so do not assume an electronics load can carry them.

Glynn County runs three drop-off centers. The Brunswick site at 550 Young Lane accepts all waste types except curbside recycling, with yard debris no larger than three inches in diameter and four feet long, and charges the published per load price in cash or by check, open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The 5020 Habersham Street site accepts all waste except yard debris, is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and charges by the ton, and the St. Simons Island site behind the Demere Road Farmers Market follows the same rules as the Brunswick site. Except where noted, the centers accept yard debris, white goods, bulky items, metal, construction debris and glass bottles and jars, and they prohibit paint, tires, hazardous materials, car batteries and dead animals.
