Two views of the same room corner: a treadmill on the left, and a small desk and chair in its place on the right.
A new use for the same space, once the old machine is outside and gone.

Room for what comes next

Your space can have a new purpose.

A home office. Room for a guest. A little more floor to enjoy. When an old machine is in the way, a clear pickup plan makes the next step easier.

The room is changing.

Book the equipment you are ready to let go of, whether it is one exercise bike or several machines. See the total before making the plan.

A replacement is coming.

Check whether your retailer includes removal. If the old treadmill is still your responsibility, give it a pickup day of its own.

It is not making the move.

Settle the price online, arrange to have it outside, and follow the pickup through text updates and completion photos. One less thing to coordinate before the keys change hands.

Match the machine

The right choice covers the right equipment.

Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.

Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?

Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.

An exercise bike, elliptical or rower

Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.

Weights, racks and benches

Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Ready for pickup

Plan the move outside before pickup day.

A machine can be too heavy or awkward for a solo move. Arrange suitable help for indoor carrying, stairs or any dismantling needed to reach the outdoor pickup spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Your place. One easy pickup plan.

A house, a condo or an apartment. Choose an accessible outdoor spot that works for your property. You arrange the move outside; we take it from there.

  2. Book a day you can be ready.

Exercise equipment

Special rules apply

Exercise equipment is not named on the city's curbside, white goods or prohibited lists, so the machine has to be confirmed before it is set out.

City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no list that names exercise equipment, and the curbside route is defined by size and volume rather than by item type while the white goods route is a closed appliance and electronics list. Call the Solid Waste Division at 770-532-0493 and confirm whether the machine can go out within the curbside limits or needs a scheduled pickup with its per-occurrence fee.
When & how
Call 770-532-0493 before the machine goes out, and if it is accepted put it at the curb on the collection day inside the one cubic yard weekly and four cubic yard monthly limits.
Get it ready
Describe the machine and its size when you call, remove any console or battery pack so the electronics travel on the white goods pickup instead, and keep the item clear of the household garbage and the recycling container.

Curbside is capped at one cubic yard a week

Curbside is the occasional item too large for the household garbage bag, such as outdoor waste from cleaning around the house, boxes and similar bulky goods, and each customer is limited to one cubic yard a week, about half a refrigerator or six kitchen-sized garbage bags, with a maximum of four cubic yards a month without additional fees. Leaves, grass clippings, packing material and any other loose items that could blow out of the truck must be bagged. Clean-outs of an attic, basement, rental turnover, estate, eviction or storage building are the resident's or owner's responsibility.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Gainesville runs its own solid waste division, collecting garbage once a week at the curb with recycling the same day and everything in city-issued receptacles requested on 770-532-0493 from the division at 263 Alta Vista Road Suite B. The rules split three ways. Household garbage is bagged waste from normal living and cannot be mixed with curbside material, because the two streams go to different landfills on different trucks. Curbside is the occasional item too large for the garbage bag, limited to one cubic yard a week and four cubic yards a month without additional fees, with loose material bagged and clean-outs of attics, basements, rental turnovers, estates, evictions and storage buildings left to the resident. White goods are the third stream: appliances and electronic waste such as computers, monitors, televisions and stereo equipment, booked in advance on 770-532-0493 with a per-occurrence fee added to the next water bill and based on what is collected, and never set out before the arrangement is made. The city refuses biomedical waste, blocks, bricks, car parts, construction and demolition debris, dirt, explosives, flammables, hazardous materials, liquids, rocks, stumps, tires and wet paint. The Hall County Landfill at 1700 Oakbrook Drive in Gainesville takes Hall County generated loads with a minimum 20 dollar tipping fee covering the first 665 pounds and 60 dollars a ton above that, charges 10 dollars per mattress or box spring on top of the weight, 10 dollars for a single refrigerant unit and 12 dollars each for several, prices tires on a chart with nothing over 24.5 inches accepted, recycles latex, oil and solvent based paints by the container, and refuses yard debris, large construction debris such as concrete and asphalt, chemical and hazardous waste, liquids, boats and mobile homes. The city and county pages are retained as archived copies from 14 August 2026 because the live city site is behind a bot challenge, so confirm current details on 770-532-0493 or 770-535-8284. Can you pick up a treadmill or exercise bike today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the equipment outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; we book a day rather than an exact appointment time.

Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?

Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.

How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?

Will the city take a treadmill in Gainesville?

Confirm it first. Gainesville defines curbside by size and volume, limits it to one cubic yard a week and four cubic yards a month without additional fees, and keeps a closed white goods list of appliances and electronic waste that does not mention exercise equipment. Call the Solid Waste Division at 770-532-0493, describe the machine, and confirm whether it can go out curbside or needs a scheduled pickup with its fee.Official guidance
