Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Right item.
Right place.

Construction debris, liquid waste, freon appliances and hazardous waste stay out of the carts

The city does not collect construction or demolition material, including roofing, rock, cement, dirt, paint, oil or any free liquid, and it does not collect freezers, refrigerators, air conditioners or any item that uses refrigerant gas. The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center never accepts mattresses, furniture, tires, glass or compost, and the Walker Mountain Landfill refuses hazardous waste, asbestos, batteries, liquid waste, tires on rims, appliances containing freon and any load that mixes garbage with yard trimmings.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Rome collects household garbage, recycling, the yard waste cart and junk items at the curb on one weekday between 7 am and 5 pm, and larger items such as old furniture go on the street by 7 am and are then scheduled with the office at 706-236-4580. The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center at 412 Lavender Drive takes the accepted recyclables plus appliances, scrap metal, shredded paper and books, with the appliance and scrap metal drop-off open around the clock and free confidential shredding Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., but it never takes mattresses, furniture, tires, glass or compost. Construction debris, household garbage and inert material go to the Walker Mountain Landfill at its published gate rates, which refuses hazardous waste, batteries, tires on rims, freon appliances and waste from outside Floyd County, and televisions, computers and household hazardous waste such as paint, chemicals and fluorescent bulbs go to the quarterly appointment-only collection events at the same Lavender Drive address. How much does electronics pickup cost in Rome?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Rome?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance
