Finish clearing the space
The last few things still deserve a pickup.
You have decided what is going. Now give those bags and boxes a pickup day, with a price you can see before anyone arrives.
The move is nearly done.
Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.
The clear-out can be finished.
You do not need a whole house of junk. Select the bags, boxes and larger items you actually have. Your combined price is shown online.
You want to know it is handled.
When the next collection does not fit your plans, choose a Dropcurb pickup day. Updates keep you informed, and completion photos show when the booked items are gone.
A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Filled bags and boxes
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard and containers
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Furniture and other larger items
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

Bulk removal is part of the franchise service and runs by appointment. A resident calls GFL Environmental to be added to the bulk schedule at least 24 hours before the service day, and up to three items are removed during each weekly service at no additional charge. The city defines a bulk item as anything too large to fit in the 95-gallon cart and names furniture, mattresses and appliances as examples.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Up to three items are removed during each weekly service at no additional charge for a household that has the required franchise garbage service and has called GFL Environmental to be added to the bulk schedule no less than 24 hours before the scheduled day. A load over the allowance in one pickup becomes a special pickup with its own published fee.
When & how
Call GFL Environmental at 770-415-5386 or 770-474-9273 to be added to the bulk collection schedule each week, at least 24 hours before the scheduled day of service, and put the items at the curb by 6:00am that day. Multiple weeks can be scheduled instead of putting everything out at once.
Get it ready
Have the freon removed from an appliance and tag the unit with certification that it is empty before it goes to the curb, keep construction material out of the load completely, and keep yard waste in its own pile or its own bags rather than in the bulk load. Describe the load accurately when the appointment is made so the right truck is sent.
Furniture is one of the items the city names as bulk, so a couch or a sofa goes out on a GFL Environmental bulk appointment rather than in the garbage cart, and it counts toward the three items removed each week.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the three item weekly bulk allowance at no additional charge for a household with the required franchise service, with the appointment made at least 24 hours ahead. A load over the allowance in one pickup becomes a special pickup with its own published fee, and the Henry County Recycle Center prices furniture per piece for a resident who drives it over instead.
When & how
Call GFL Environmental at least 24 hours before the service day to be added to the bulk schedule, and put the piece out by 6:00am on the collection day.
Get it ready
Keep the piece out of the garbage cart, because only the hauler's 95-gallon cart is serviced, and keep construction material and yard waste in separate loads. A resident who is unable to move the piece to the curb can ask the city Utility Billing Office about backdoor collection, which requires a physician's signature.
Mattresses are named as bulk items that GFL Environmental collects on a scheduled appointment, so a mattress goes out with the weekly bulk pickup and counts toward the three items allowed each week. The city publishes no extra mattress condition beyond the general bulk rules, while the Henry County Recycle Center prices a mattress by size for a resident who drives it over.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the three item weekly bulk allowance at no additional charge for a household with the required franchise service, with the appointment made at least 24 hours ahead. The Henry County Recycle Center publishes its own per piece price when a resident hauls the mattress there instead.
When & how
Call GFL Environmental at least 24 hours ahead to be added to the bulk schedule and put the mattress at the curb by 6:00am on the service day, or take it to the Henry County Recycle Center during its operating days.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and out of the garbage cart, because only the hauler's cart is serviced and a mattress goes on a bulk appointment instead. Keep it out of a load with construction material, which the city refuses from every generator, and out of the yard waste pile.
Appliances are named as bulk items with one published condition: freon must be removed from the unit and the unit tagged with certification that it is empty before it is collected. The county recycle center takes appliances and scrap metal for recycling and does not take dishwashers.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the three item weekly bulk allowance at no additional charge when the freon has been removed and the unit is tagged with certification that it is empty, with the appointment made at least 24 hours ahead. The Henry County Recycle Center also takes appliances as scrap metal from a resident who hauls them over.
When & how
Call GFL Environmental at least 24 hours before the service day, have the refrigerant work done before the collection, and put the appliance out by 6:00am on the service day.
Get it ready
Have a certified technician remove the freon and attach the certification tag, empty the unit, and keep it out of the garbage cart. A lawn mower goes to the county center as scrap metal with the fuel removed, and a dishwasher is on the county center's refused list.
Exercise equipment is not one of the examples the city lists, but the program defines a bulk item as any item too large to fit in the 95-gallon cart and gives furniture, mattresses and appliances as examples rather than as a closed list, so a treadmill or a weight machine goes out on a scheduled bulk appointment.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the three item weekly bulk allowance at no additional charge when the machine is placed on the bulk schedule with GFL Environmental at least 24 hours ahead. A load over the allowance in one pickup becomes a special pickup with its own published fee.
When & how
Call GFL Environmental at least 24 hours before the service day to be added to the bulk schedule, and put the machine at the curb by 6:00am that day.
Get it ready
Take the machine apart as far as it comes apart so it can be handled at the curb, keep it out of the 95-gallon cart, and describe the load accurately when the appointment is made so the right truck is sent.
Garbage goes in the hauler's 95-gallon cart and all of it has to be bagged inside the container, recycling goes in the 65-gallon cart on the every other week schedule, and both carts are at the curb no later than 6:00am on the scheduled day. Only the hauler's carts are serviced, keep them clear of mailboxes, poles and hydrants, and a service day that falls on a holiday moves to the following day.
Call GFL Environmental at 770-415-5386 or 770-474-9273 at least 24 hours before the scheduled day of service to be added to the bulk collection schedule, then put the items at the curb by 6:00am. Up to three items come off in one weekly service at no additional charge, a load over that in a single pickup becomes a special pickup with its own published fee, freon has to be removed from an appliance and the unit tagged with certification that it is empty, and construction material does not go out at all.
For a self haul to the Henry County Recycle Center

Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
