Do not confuse real-tree and artificial-tree collection
Mesa’s Christmas tree recycling program accepts live, non-artificial trees only. Keep a plastic-and-metal tree out of a seasonal natural-tree drop-off unless the receiving program explicitly says otherwise.

Ask about components before taking it apart
Describe the tree, base and any built-in lights to your local program. Follow its material-specific instructions rather than assuming a mixed-material tree belongs in the household recycling cart. If the tree is usable, offering it to another household can avoid this sorting task.

When Dropcurb helps
When a tree cannot be passed on and you want it removed, Dropcurb lists artificial Christmas trees of 10 feet or less. Have the accepted item outside and accessible and check its preparation requirements. Pickup provides removal; it does not promise that every component will be recycled.
