Match the books to the program
Separate children’s and teen books from adult titles. The Bodega accepts foreign-language and dual-language books, but excludes activity books, religious books and encyclopedias. Pack giftable books by age level or type and label the bags or boxes.
Choose the right drop-off
Use the current Book Drop Locations page before travelling. Smaller partner sites have quantity limits. If you need help unloading or a donation receipt, arrange an appointment at the Book Hub instead of using an unattended drop.
When Dropcurb helps
If your New York City book clear-out leaves accepted boxes to remove, Dropcurb handles loading and transport once they are outside and accessible. Pack books in manageable boxes and count each filled box, not each book. Check heavy or oversized boxes with us first. Choose the charity directly when your goal is donation; standard pickup does not promise a donation destination.
