Where to donate books in Philadelphia

Circle Thrift accepts book donations at 2233 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia. Bring them to the donation door during its posted hours, Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Keep the books together and check with the store before bringing a large collection.

Use the donation entrance

Take the books to the staffed donation door rather than leaving them on the sidewalk. The store also lists CDs, DVDs and records among accepted goods, which can help when clearing a mixed media shelf.

Keep the handoff manageable

Pack small boxes you can carry and separate books from unrelated household items. For an estate library or unusually large quantity, ask the store to confirm capacity before making the trip. Check its current hours for holiday changes.

When Dropcurb helps

If your Philadelphia book clear-out leaves accepted boxes to remove, Dropcurb handles loading and transport once they are outside and accessible. Pack books in manageable boxes and count each filled box, not each book. Check heavy or oversized boxes with us first. Choose the charity directly when your goal is donation; standard pickup does not promise a donation destination.
