A mattress goes out on the same scheduled large item pickup the city prices per item.
City cost & eligibility

When & how

Large items, appliances and extra Friday pickups are scheduled through the city's online form with at least 24 hours notice, and the fee is charged per item.

A single family household inside the city limits with a couch, mattress, appliance or other large item.
Cost & conditions
$25 per large item pickup, with appliance pickups at 35.00 dollars per unit on the same published schedule. Single family residences inside the city limits that hold city sanitation service, booked in advance.
Arrange it
Complete the city's online scheduling form with at least 24 hours notice, then set the item out on the confirmed day.
The service covers household collection rather than project material, and electronics, exercise equipment and appliances that are not on the published list have to be confirmed with the Sanitation Division first.
Bloomington's collection is a city service rather than a drop-off, so a household books a large item, appliance or extra Friday pickup through the city's online form and pays the published per item or per cart fee. The city itself publishes no household hazardous waste programme and no construction route, and its recycling rules refuse lumber, dirt, debris, paint, cleaning products and hazardous material, so paint, chemicals and batteries have to be confirmed with the Sanitation Division at (812) 349-3443, electronics go to the Monroe County Solid Waste Management District facilities, and project loads are arranged privately. Before you book
A few things worth knowing.
Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Bloomington.
How much does mattress removal cost in Bloomington?+
The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.
Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Bloomington?+
Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.
Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?+
The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.
Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.
Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?+
You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.
Will Bloomington collect a mattress?+
Yes, as a scheduled large item pickup at the published fee of 25.00 dollars per item. Book it through the city's online form with at least 24 hours notice, and set the mattress out on the confirmed day.Official guidance
