The city collects large items once a week and only on your regularly scheduled collection day, with the item at your pickup location by 7 a.m. that morning, and the named large item is one piece of furniture per week. Televisions cannot be collected at the curb because the city cites Indiana law, so they go to the county electronics route instead.
Two totes come with trash service and recycling runs every other week
Residents who receive trash service are provided two totes, and a resident can request an exchange of a trash tote for a recycling bin or a recycling bin for a trash tote through the street department form. Recycling is single stream and mandatory, collected every other week on the same day as trash with everything loose and never bagged, and plastic shopping bags do not belong in the tote. The city says its normal trash routes run on all major holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas.
