Just the mattress? Or the whole bed?

A mattress, box spring and bed frame are separate items. Add only what you need removed, and see the combined price before booking.

Three parts. Choose only the ones going.

Mattress

Choose twin, full, queen or king / California king. The mattress choice covers the mattress itself. A topper is a different item.

Box spring or foundation

Add the non-powered support beneath the mattress separately. Choose its size. If you have a split foundation, send a photo so we can help you count it.

Frame or adjustable base

  1. Check what your delivery includes.

If a new mattress is arriving, check whether your retailer is taking the old one. If you need Dropcurb, choose a day when you can have it outside. A delivery window and a pickup day are different arrangements.

  2. Arrange the trip outside.

Plan for doorways, elevators and interior stairs before pickup day. You arrange any indoor carrying. Use a permitted outdoor location and keep entrances and the walking path open.

  3. Make the right mattress easy to find.

Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. Add a location photo and clear access notes so your hauler can identify exactly what is going.

Special rules apply

Alexandria collects limbs and bulky items as class 3 debris on a rotating route, but the published examples name sofas and chairs rather than mattresses.

City cost & eligibility
The city page publishes no separate charge for class 3 bulky debris. Confirm the item, the address and any current charge with the Sanitation Department before set-out.
When & how
Check the current rotation for your address and set the mattress at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day the class 3 route is due.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress in its own pile, apart from white goods, limbs and bagged leaves. Garbage goes out only on a scheduled day, and the city can cite an unscheduled set-out.

City of Alexandria Sanitation Department

Use Alexandria's class 3 debris route

City of Alexandria residences with a confirmed address and accepted bulky items such as sofas, chairs and similar household furniture, plus limbs and bagged yard debris.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes no separate charge for class 3 debris. Confirm the item, the address and any current charge with the Sanitation Department.
Arrange it
Call the Sanitation Department at 318-441-6080 or 318-441-6082, or check the current rotation for your address, and put the item at the curb by 7 a.m. on the scheduled day.

The route covers the published examples, and it excludes white goods unless they are requested separately, televisions, tires, construction material and scrap metal. An unnamed item, including a mattress or exercise machine, needs confirmation before set-out.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Alexandria's curbside route covers household garbage twice a week and class 3 debris such as limbs and bulky items on a rotating schedule. Televisions, tires, construction material and scrap metal are not part of it. The routes the city does publish are its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day at the City Complex, retailer drop-off for televisions and electronics, store auto centers for used tires, and Xpress Recycling for scrap metal. Rapides Parish ordinance also establishes a sanitary landfill near Esler Field, but the published text is decades old, so confirm current hours, acceptance and fees before hauling. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Alexandria.

How much does mattress removal cost in Alexandria?

The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Alexandria?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.

Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?

The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.

Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.

Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?

You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.

Does Alexandria's bulky route name mattresses?

The current city page names sofas, chairs and other bulky waste for its class 3 debris route, and its white goods list covers household appliances rather than mattresses. Call the Sanitation Department at 318-441-6080 or 318-441-6082 before setting one out.Official guidance

Who should I call about a bulky item in Alexandria?

The Sanitation Department takes bulky item and white goods questions at 318-441-6080 or 318-441-6082, and household hazardous waste questions go to Environmental Services at 318-441-6204.Official guidance
