Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Ready for pickup

Ready outside. Taken from there.

Your TV can stay inside while you book. Before pickup, arrange to have it disconnected, taken down if mounted and moved to an accessible outdoor spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival appointment. If your building allows only a short loading window, contact us before booking to confirm a workable plan.

Your place. One easy pickup plan.

A house, a condo or an apartment. Choose an accessible outdoor spot that works for your property. You arrange the move outside; we take it from there.

Text us about your setup
  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions and electronics

Special rules apply

Neither authority names televisions or electronics, and the city's recycling days publish no item list, so a device has to be confirmed with the city or taken to the landfill.

City cost & eligibility
No electronics category or rate is published. Confirm with Utility Billing at (985) 277-5615 whether a device can be taken to the recycling drop-off or the Hazardous Household Recycling Day, or with the landfill on 985-878-4403 about a Type II load.
When & how
Ask the city first, since the recycling drop-off runs on the first and third Saturdays of the month and the household hazardous event runs on the first Saturday in May, or use the landfill during its published hours.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers, tablets and phones before they leave the house, keep devices out of the household garbage while the answer is pending, and keep batteries and chemicals out of the recycling load, because neither authority publishes a list that accepts them.

Right place.

Two household collection days the city does publish

Recycling is available at the city maintenance facility on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 8am to 12pm, and the Hazardous Household Recycling Day runs on the first Saturday in May from 8am to 12pm at Zemurray Park. Neither published event carries an accepted item list, so call Utility Billing at (985) 277-5615 to confirm what can be brought before loading the car.

City of Hammond utility billing and sanitation contractor with the Tangipahoa Parish Landfill

Use the Hazardous Household Recycling Day

A household with paint, chemicals, batteries or a device that should not go in the household garbage.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes the event without a fee and without an accepted item list, so confirm the material and any charge with Utility Billing at (985) 277-5615.
Arrange it
Take the material to Zemurray Park on the first Saturday in May between 8am and 12pm.

The event runs once a year and the published description names no items, so call ahead before holding material for it, and keep the material out of the household garbage and the recycling drop-off load in the meantime.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self haul in Hammond means the Tangipahoa Parish Landfill at 57510 Hano Road in Independence. It accepts residential and commercial solid waste as Type II waste and construction and demolition debris as Type III waste, and it publishes its rates as $39.21 per ton for residential waste from inside the parish, $45.58 per ton for construction and demolition debris and for commercial waste, and $46.44 per ton for out of parish waste, with tires limited to 5 per day per citizen per vehicle and no published minimum charge. The gate is open from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, closed Sunday and on New Year's Day, the 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve, and it requires a valid Louisiana driver's licence depicting residency in Tangipahoa Parish for the residential rate. Hazardous waste, industrial material such as oil, gas and grease, agricultural chemicals, regulated asbestos containing material and burn barrels are refused, so those streams have to wait for the city's Hazardous Household Recycling Day on the first Saturday in May at Zemurray Park. Nothing at the landfill or on the city site names a mattress, appliance, television or electronic category, and the city publishes no bulky item programme, so confirm those items on 985-878-4403 or with Utility Billing at (985) 277-5615 before loading. The city also opens a recycling drop-off at its maintenance facility on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 8am to 12pm without publishing an accepted item list. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Hammond.

How much does TV removal cost in Hammond?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Hammond?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and electronics go in Hammond?

Neither the city nor the parish publishes a television or electronics category, and the city's recycling days do not list accepted items, so call Utility Billing at (985) 277-5615 and ask whether a device can go to the maintenance facility drop-off on the first and third Saturdays or to the Hazardous Household Recycling Day on the first Saturday in May. The landfill on 985-878-4403 is the other route to confirm, as a Type II residential load.Official guidance

Who collects garbage in Hammond, Louisiana?

The city collects household garbage on its own route and handles garbage problems through Utility Billing at (985) 277-5615, with the office at 310 E. Charles St on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The city does not publish its collection day, container rule or fee on its website, and it names no bulky item programme, so everything beyond the household set out has to be confirmed by phone or hauled to the Tangipahoa Parish Landfill in Independence.Official guidance

What household recycling events does Hammond run?

Recycling is available at the city maintenance facility on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 8am to 12pm, and the Hazardous Household Recycling Day runs on the first Saturday in May from 8am to 12pm at Zemurray Park. The city publishes both without an accepted item list, so call Utility Billing at (985) 277-5615 before bringing electronics, appliances or household chemicals.Official guidance
