Tires are refused in the bulky pile and in the recycling cart, and the city publishes no tire drop-off, so a tire has to go to a business that states it will take it.
The handoff matters
Bag the household waste, close the lid to within 6 inches of the top, and leave nothing beside the cart, because bagged items and loose items outside the cart are not collected. Put carts out the night before or by 5 a.m., within 3 feet of the curb and clear of vehicles, mailboxes, hydrants, poles and fences, with the handle facing the house and the lid opening facing the street. Round cans and cans with removable lids are not collected, and a recycling cart left at the curb on the garbage day is dumped as garbage.

No. Tires are on the contractor's published unacceptable list for the bulky pile, and the recycling cart does not take them either, because the cart refuses hazardous material, plastic film and loose items. A tire dealer or a transfer station that states it accepts tires is the practical route, so confirm the count and the charge before the trip.Official guidance
Coastal Environmental Services collects for the City of Slidell, and the city's own Public Utilities page names it as the city trash company. Garbage runs twice a week on either a Monday and Thursday or a Tuesday and Friday pattern, recycling runs once a week, and bulky and green waste rides a separate grapple truck that works one side of the city at a time. The contract number is 985-781-3171.Official guidance
The city publishes no municipal drop-off for household bulky items, so the usual answer is to call Coastal Environmental Services at 985-781-3171 and ask what the contract can arrange. Glass is the exception, with a free drop-off at the Heritage Park parking lot at the corner of Bayou Lane and Pennsylvania Avenue from 9:00 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of the month, and a transfer station in Mandeville at 68658 LA-59 can be asked about a self-hauled load at (985) 893-5308.Official guidance
