The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

City cost & eligibility
From $37.2 per bulk item at the disposal center on Woodworth Road, whose bulk list names large televisions alongside couches, mattresses, box springs and appliances. Self-haul to 555 Woodworth Rd during its weekday and Saturday hours; the city clean-up days refuse electronics and Jackson publishes no television collection of its own.
When & how
Take the set to the disposal center at 555 Woodworth Rd, which opens Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon, or hand it to a City-approved hauler instead of putting it in a clean-up day load.
Get it ready
Keep the screen whole, wipe anything that stores data, keep the stand and cables with the set, and confirm the destination takes the television before loading it, because electronics are on the clean-up day refused list.
Jackson does not run a citywide curbside collection. The city's utilities page tells new residents they need to find a trash pickup provider and prints the approved list, and the city's 2022 refuse review said Jackson was alone among its peer cities in not providing garbage service directly or through a single contracted hauler. Weekly trash, curbside recycling and any bulky collection therefore come from whichever approved hauler a household signs with, while the city's own programmes are the autumn loose leaf collection and the spring and fall clean-up days.
Anything the free programmes do not cover is paid. Granger's Disposal Center of Jackson on Woodworth Road takes household trash by the bag or the ton, bulk items including furniture, mattresses, box springs and large televisions, appliances with a higher rate for a Freon unit, construction waste under a tonnage minimum and yard waste in paper bags. Jackson County lists the drop-off organisations for household recyclables instead of running a site, and the Conservation District holds household hazardous waste collections two or three times a year by reservation for a per vehicle charge.
