Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and remodeling debris

Not on the regular city route

Construction, remodeling and demolition material is not collected at the curb and is not regular garbage in Livonia. Small homeowner loads go to the Refuse Disposal Site, larger loads to a private depot or a special pickup.

City cost & eligibility
From $3 per vehicle at the entrance gate of the Refuse Disposal Site, where a car or station wagon is the lowest published rate and building material is limited to a small amount up to a wheelbarrow full. Livonia households only, with material originating from a Livonia home, paid in cash at the entrance gate.
When & how
Drop-off during the days the Refuse Disposal Site is open, or arrange a special pickup with the city's hauler. There is no curbside collection day for this material.
Get it ready
Keep building material separate from household refuse and inside the site's small load limit of a wheelbarrow full, with shingles and concrete named as examples. Never set drywall, shingles, concrete or lumber at the curb.

A household with branches, brush, logs, stumps, pallets, plywood or clean lumber that the curb will not take.

Special pickup through the city's hauler

A household with a load the routine pickup will not take, such as construction material or a bulky item beyond the two piece weekly limit.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes the hauler's number for special pickups but no rate. Call Priority Waste at 586-228-1200 and confirm the charge before you schedule.
Arrange it
Call Priority Waste at 586-228-1200, the number the city publishes for special pickups, and follow the instructions you are given for where and when to set the load out.

The city states that no construction materials are collected at the curb, so a remodeling load needs the dump or a special pickup. Nothing about the material accepted on a special pickup, the size of a load or the charge is published, so confirm all three on the call.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Livonia has three published destinations, and each one takes a different kind of load. Household clutter, furniture, carpeting, small amounts of building material and up to ten tires go to the Refuse Disposal Site at 32300 Glendale Avenue, which is open to Livonia households only, charges per vehicle in cash at the entrance gate, and publishes a separate winter schedule. Clean wood, brush, pallets, plywood, logs and stumps go next door to the Mid-Michigan Recycling Center at 32700 Glendale Street, free for a Livonia resident with a Livonia driver's license and proof of residency in a personally owned vehicle. Televisions, computers, chemicals, paint, needles and batteries go to ERG Environmental Services at 13040 Merriman Road on weekdays, where residency is verified and the published charge is by weight. Cardboard larger than three feet by three feet, larger scrap metal and vehicle batteries can also go to the Drop-Off Recycling Center on the south side of Glendale Avenue. Confirm the season before you load, because the refuse site changes hours, and confirm the drop-off center terms because no charge is published for it. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Livonia.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Livonia?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Livonia?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Can construction debris go to the curb in Livonia?

No. The city states that no construction materials are collected at the curb and that they must be taken to the dump by the resident or picked up through a special pickup. Demolition and renovation material is also not accepted as regular garbage.Official guidance

How do I dispose of a larger remodeling load?

The Refuse Disposal Site takes household clutter and small amounts of building material, up to a wheelbarrow full, from Livonia households at the gate rate. The city's own item answers point larger demolition and renovation loads to a depot such as Arbor Hills Landfill or a disposal company, and the city publishes 586-228-1200 for a special pickup.Official guidance

How do I arrange a special pickup in Livonia?

Contact Priority Waste at 586-228-1200, the number the city publishes for special pickups. No construction material is collected at the curb, so a remodeling load needs the dump or a special pickup. The city does not publish a rate for a special pickup, so confirm the charge when you call.Official guidance

What should I do if my trash was missed in Livonia?

Create a service request through Report a Concern or call Public Works at 734-466-2655. Carts and large items need to be out by 7 a.m. on collection day, and in a holiday week the rest of the schedule runs one day late.Official guidance
