One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Follow the hauler's own pickup instructions

Eagan lets trash and recycling containers sit at the curb or collection point from 6 p.m. the night before collection until 6 a.m. on collection day, and asks that containers stay out of sight from the street at all other times. A one-time large-item pickup follows the hauler's own directions, so confirm the spot and the timing when you schedule it.

Prepare a drop-off load

For a transfer station or the Recycling Zone, load the items yourself and check the current hours before you leave. At the Recycling Zone, stay in the vehicle and keep everything except sharps in the trunk or the very back so staff can unload it, and have proof of residency ready. Facilities price a load by item, weight or vehicle type, so ask before you drive.

City of Eagan, Dakota Valley Recycling and licensed residential haulers

Arrange a one-time pickup with your licensed hauler

Households with a couch, mattress, appliance, television or exercise machine that will not fit the curbside carts.

Cost & conditions
Each licensed hauler sets its own one-time large-item price and its own list of what it will take. Ask for the price when you book.
Arrange it
Call the hauler that collects your garbage, or one of the other licensed haulers on the city list, and describe the exact items and where they will sit. County guidance points residents to their hauler for a one-time large-item pickup.

Eagan has no citywide bulky-item collection, so what each hauler accepts, prices and asks you to do at the curb varies by company.

Use the Dakota Valley Recycling drop-off event

Eagan households with appliances, mattresses, box springs, exercise equipment, scrap metal or electronics, including screens.

Cost & conditions
The published 2026 event charged per item: appliances $5 each with water softeners at $30, power equipment and exercise equipment $10 each, scrap metal $5 per load, televisions and monitors $25 to $45 by size, other electronics $10 each, and mattresses or box springs $20 per piece. Laptops, towers, phones and tablets were free. Confirm the current event prices.
Arrange it
Eagan is one of the four cities Dakota Valley Recycling serves, so residents can use its events. Check the collection and swap events page for the current date, time and location, then load one vehicle and stay in it on arrival.

It is a one-day event rather than a year-round route. The published drop-off did not accept furniture including futons, air mattresses, tires, batteries or construction material.

Through your building

Start with management at an apartment or shared building

Residents of apartments, condominiums, townhomes and other multi-unit buildings that use a shared hauler or dumpster.

Cost & conditions
The property owner, manager or its private hauler sets the arrangement and the price for removing a large item.
Arrange it
Ask the property manager how the building handles a large item and whether the shared hauler will take it. Multi-unit and commercial hauling is licensed separately from the household list.

Do not put a large item out under the single-family collection rules without confirming the building arrangement. Buildings with four or more attached units and a shared contract must meet the county recycling requirements instead.

Review multifamily rules

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Eagan collects no garbage of its own, so a self-haul trip is a normal route for a large item. The Dakota County Recycling Zone at 3365 Dodd Road in Eagan takes electronics, tires and household hazardous waste, but it does not take appliances, furniture, mattresses or exercise equipment. For those, use a transfer station: Dakota Area Transfer in Rosemount takes furniture, appliances, mattresses, electronics and construction debris, and Freeway Transfer in Burnsville takes couches, stoves, carpet, drywall and project debris. Call the facility with your exact items and load before you leave home, and check the published public drop-off hours. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Eagan.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Eagan?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Eagan?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Where do Eagan residents take a television?

The Dakota County Recycling Zone at 3365 Dodd Road in Eagan accepts televisions and monitors for its published per-item fee, and the annual DVR summer drop-off event also collects screens. A transfer station will take them at a higher per-item rate.Official guidance

What electronics does the Recycling Zone take in Eagan?

It takes computers, laptops, printers, copiers, scanners, phones, tablets, game systems, stereo equipment and many small household electronics, and it destroys data to federal standards. Televisions and monitors carry the per-item fee, and batteries should be removed first.Official guidance

Who collects large items in Eagan?

Nobody on a city route. Eagan licenses private haulers and requires them to offer curbside recycling, but the city runs no bulky-item collection. County guidance tells residents to call the hauler on their account for a one-time large-item pickup, or to use a transfer station, a temporary dumpster or a bag service instead.Official guidance
