City cost & eligibility
The annual allowance is included in an existing paid city garbage account. Confirm the remaining allowance and current excess-item rate.
When & how
Use the regular collection day and location for an eligible city garbage account. A separate vehicle returns after the regular driver marks the item.
Get it ready
Remove food, liquids and batteries. Drain water heaters and water softeners, and drain oil or gas from any small engine. Confirm safe disconnection before moving a hard-wired or plumbed appliance.
Place an eligible bulky item outside by 6 a.m. on the regular collection day, next to but not leaning on the garbage cart. Label it bulky and remove food, liquids, gas and batteries. A different curb or alley location requires advance scheduling.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
