Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named on the prohibited waste sheet and not named in the city questions and answers, so a treadmill or weight machine is a confirmation on the bulk stream that shares the garbage day. Nothing publishes an item rule either way.
City cost & eligibility
No exercise machine price is published because bulk collection is part of the residential service billed on the water and sewer bill. Confirm the machine on 311 or 228-868-5700 before it goes out, since the city publishes no item list for the bulk stream.
When & how
If the city confirms the machine, put it out with the cart on the garbage day, because bulk trash is collected on the same day as garbage. Household garbage itself runs twice a week and recycling runs on Wednesdays.
Get it ready
Strip the machine down as far as it will come apart and take the console off the frame so it can be handled. Keep it clear of the cart and clear of power lines and trees, and keep any loose battery or chemical out of the pile because the sheet refuses batteries, liquids, paint and chemical containers outright.
Bulk trash shares the garbage day, with its own trucks on the route
Bulk trash collection happens on the same day as garbage pickup, and the city runs three bulk collection trucks on the same route as the garbage trucks. That means there is no separate bulk appointment and no bulky item fee line to book. Residents also no longer have to call a pile in, because the Waste Pro driver reports the pile to the hauler when it needs collecting, while a pile a contractor created stays with the contractor.

A long prohibited list applies, covering electronics, refrigerant appliances, tires, paint and chemical containers, liquids, gas bottles, buckets and coolers, and household food garbage including empty packaging, so a mixed pile can be refused as a whole. Building material is refused and anything a contractor created has to be removed by the contractor rather than put at the curb.

Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
