Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Special rules apply

The city keeps electronics out of the containers and sends them to private businesses instead. The recycling page states plainly that the landfill has no designated electronics drop-off program, while the current fee sheet still prices televisions, printers and hard drives on its e-waste line, so the safe move is to call before anything is loaded.

City cost & eligibility
No private recycler publishes a rate for what it takes and the city publishes no flat price for a single television or computer, so confirm acceptance and cost with the business you pick, or with the landfill scale house on 575-624-6746 if you plan to tip a television, printer or hard drive there. E-waste is excluded from the once-a-month free residential drop.
When & how
Call the recycler you choose, or the landfill on 575-624-6746, before loading a television, monitor or computer, then deliver it during that business's own hours and keep it out of both curbside and alley containers until then.
Get it ready
Wipe the personal information off phones, computers and smart televisions before anything changes hands, keep remotes and cables with the device they belong to, and tape or bag loose batteries so they cannot short in transport.

Containers out before 5 a.m.

Curbside roll-outs go to the curb or the front of the driveway before 5 a.m. on the pickup day and no more than 12 hours early, facing the street and clear of obstacles. Alley containers are shared by up to four households, face the inside of the alley, have to stay upright, and may only be moved by a sanitation worker. Anything left beside a container stays there unless it is on the grapple truck list.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Roswell households do most of their own hauling to the Roswell Municipal Landfill at 3006 W Brasher Road, which serves Roswell and Chaves County and charges by weight and material at the scale, with one residential load a month waived for a water customer who brings a current bill and identification. The same site runs free recycling containers for cardboard, aluminum cans and tin cans, checked in at the weight station, and it takes tires, e-waste and refrigerators on their own fee lines, so those loads have to be kept separate from the free drop. For metal, the city names Roswell Recycling Center on East Poe Street, which also buys the cans collected at the landfill. Electronics go to Roswell Phone and Computer Repair on North Main Street, Oasis Computers on North Garden Avenue or the Target store on North Main Street, because the landfill has no designated electronics drop-off program, and small batteries, glass, plastic bags and cellphones are accepted at that same store while lithium batteries wait at The Home Depot. Fluorescent bulbs go to J&G Electric on South Main Street for a fee, used motor oil goes to the quick lube shop the landfill names on North Main Street, and plastic bags can go back to Albertsons Market. Everything should be tarped on the way in, and nothing on the landfill's prohibited list, including commercial hazardous material and bulk liquids, should be loaded at all. Household trash, brush and yard waste, clean fill such as concrete, brick, asphalt and rock, tires, appliances, refrigerators, televisions, printers and hard drives at the published scale rates, and the free recycling containers for cardboard, aluminum cans and tin cans

No commercial hazardous materials or bulk liquids; chemicals from commercial and industrial businesses, explosives and bullets, highly flammable or toxic substances, paint, unknown chemicals and motor oil are all on the prohibited list, with a quick lube shop named for oil instead. Loads have to be tarped, refrigerators have to be empty, and a truckload with more than ten tires needs a manifest.

From $9.81 for the residential flat rate for the first 300 pounds of a tipped load, with additional weight at $54.15 per ton and clean fill, asphalt shingles, tires, e-waste and refrigerators billed on their own lines of the sheet effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. Roswell and Chaves County residential loads; one load a month is waived for a resident who brings a current City water bill dated within 30 days and identification, and that waiver does not cover tires, construction material, shingles, e-waste or heavy loads over 300 pounds.

Store drop-off the city lists for small recyclables

Target

2725 N. Main St., Roswell, New Mexico

9-volt and AAA through D cell batteries, lithium batteries that are wrapped and taped, glass, plastic bags, cellphones, ink cartridges, plastic bottles and aluminum cans

A retail drop-off rather than a municipal site, and the store asks for a call ahead on large quantities. The city names a second battery option at The Home Depot on North Main Street and plastic bag drops at Albertsons Market on South Main Street and West 2nd Street.

No hours are published for this retail store.

The city lists the accepted items but no charge, so ask at the service desk what the store currently takes and whether anything is refused before bringing a large quantity.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Roswell.

How much does TV removal cost in Roswell?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Roswell?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can I take a TV or computer in Roswell?

To Roswell Phone and Computer Repair at 3110 N. Main St., Oasis Computers at 1703 N. Garden Ave., or the Target service desk at 2725 N. Main St. for smaller items such as cellphones. The landfill states that it has no designated electronics drop-off program, and the city asks you to wipe personal data and confirm with each business what it currently takes.Official guidance

Who runs trash collection in Roswell?

The City of Roswell Solid Waste Department does, with free curbside roll-outs where there is curbside service and shared alley containers for up to four households where there is not. The department also runs the municipal landfill and answers program questions on 575-624-6746.Official guidance

Which days is my trash collected in Roswell?

Collection runs twice a week by half of the city: Monday and Thursday for addresses south of Alameda Street, including the RIAC, and Tuesday and Friday for addresses north of Alameda Street. Curbside containers go out before 5 a.m. and alley containers take the last bag by the same time.Official guidance

How is residential trash service billed in Roswell?

The household charge is added to the monthly City water bill, and grapple truck bulk collection is billed on the same bill by how full the truck is. The current amounts sit on the city's fee pages, and the department can confirm them on 575-624-6746 before anything large is set out.Official guidance

Which holidays change trash or landfill hours in Roswell?

The landfill closes for New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Sanitation still collects the day after Thanksgiving, and the city posts route changes for the other holidays on its Facebook page.Official guidance
