The only money the city publishes in this program is the $500.00 minimum service charge under Section 979.05 for abating a waste set over 20 cubic yards, which applies to an excessive accumulation rather than to an ordinary heavy item.
When & how
Put the heavy item next to the cart on the night before the regular collection day, and keep the cart itself clear of the item so the automated arm can reach the container.

Keep the item out of the cart, because loose trash and the other barred materials are what the cart refuses, and leave enough clearance around the cart. Construction debris is expressly excluded from the ordinance definition of waste the city collects, so it is not part of this route and has to be handled separately.
