Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronics are accepted at the Spring Cleanup and are also banned from the garbage by state law, with the Lane County electronics programme as the free year-round route.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free at the Spring Cleanup for residents inside the city limits, and free year round through the Lane County Electronics Recycling Program for citizens and for businesses and non-profits with fewer than eleven employees.
When & how
Take the devices to EcoSort in Glenwood on the event day, published as Saturday, May 15, 2027, or use the Lane County electronics programme during the year. Oregon law has barred televisions, computers, laptops and monitors from the garbage since January 1, 2010.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from anything that stores it, and keep televisions, computers, laptops and monitors out of the garbage cart and the recycling cart entirely. The event also takes printers, copiers, VCR and DVD players, cameras, stereos, CD players, fax machines, surge protectors, typewriters, keyboards and discs.

The city bulky route runs on one day a year

Spring Cleanup is a free event at EcoSort in Glenwood for Springfield residents inside the city limits, and the cleanup page names Saturday, May 15, 2027 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. as the next date. City workers and volunteers unload the vehicle while the resident waits, and the city reports that most of what the event collects is reused or recycled. Sign up for the city's email list to be told the date each spring, and confirm the date by phone at 541-525-2658 because the FAQ page still prints an older year.

Keep the refused material at home

Garbage, household chemicals such as paint, pesticides and aerosol cans, roofing shingles and fluorescent lights are not accepted at the event. Household chemicals are directed to Lane County Waste Management, most lighting and hardware stores take fluorescent bulbs under four feet free, and garbage goes to the landfill or the regular garbage service.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Springfield households mostly self-haul, because the city's bulky route is the free Spring Cleanup event at EcoSort in Glenwood rather than a curbside service. That event takes furniture, mattresses and box springs, appliances, electronics, scrap metal including exercise equipment, building material, batteries, Styrofoam, clothing, medications and yard debris from residents inside the city limits who show proof of residency, and the cleanup page names Saturday, May 15, 2027 as the next date. Anything the event refuses, or a load a household cannot hold until then, goes to a Lane County transfer station at the county's published rates, with a minimum charge up to one cubic yard and a per-ton rate at Glenwood. Televisions, computers, laptops and monitors may never go in the garbage under Oregon law and are free through the Lane County electronics programme, and Sanipac, the city's franchised hauler, runs the garbage, recycling and yard debris carts. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Springfield.

How much does TV removal cost in Springfield?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Springfield?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Can a television go in the garbage in Springfield?

No. Oregon law has banned televisions, computers, laptops and computer monitors from the garbage since January 1, 2010, and the city says they have to be recycled. Take them to the Spring Cleanup at EcoSort in Glenwood, or use the Lane County Electronics Recycling Program, which is free for citizens and for small businesses and non-profits.Official guidance

Who collects garbage and recycling in Springfield?

Sanipac is the City of Springfield's franchised hauler and provides curbside commingled recycling and yard debris collection alongside garbage service. A household that already has garbage service with Sanipac qualifies for a free recycle bin, and the city points residents at Sanipac's Waste Wizard for cart questions and at Lane County's WasteWise tool for transfer station questions.Official guidance

When is the next Spring Cleanup?

The city's cleanup page names Saturday, May 15, 2027 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at EcoSort in Glenwood, while the FAQ page still prints an older year, so confirm by phone at 541-525-2658 or join the city's email list, which sends the date each spring. The event is free for residents inside the city limits with proof of residency.Official guidance

Where do paint and household chemicals go?

Not to Spring Cleanup. The event refuses household chemicals and points residents to Lane County Waste Management for paint, pesticides and aerosol cans, and it refuses fluorescent lights as well, though most lighting and hardware stores in the area take bulbs under four feet for free. Confirm the current county arrangement before transporting anything hazardous.Official guidance

Are there limits on what I can bring to the event?

Yes. Tires are limited to five per vehicle and must be no larger than a 17 inch rim, with no semi-truck or tractor tires, medications must arrive without needles or sharps, and the city reserves the right to refuse an oversized load or a load in an enclosed vehicle such as a moving truck. Plastic items are collected but disposed of as common trash rather than recycled.Official guidance
