Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and renovation debris

Not on the regular city route

Construction debris is on the cleanup day's unacceptable list, where the flyer names concrete, plaster and dirt, so renovation material cannot go out with the annual pick up. The county's transfer stations take household loads, but only with the asbestos testing and documentation that Oregon requires for construction, demolition and remodeling debris.

City cost & eligibility
The city's cleanup program publishes no construction rate because construction debris is refused there, with concrete, plaster and dirt named on the unacceptable list. The county publishes facility hours rather than station tipping fees, and its franchise fee schedule does not apply to West Linn because this is an incorporated city, so there is no municipal construction rate to quote. Call the hauler on 503-557-3900 about its cleanup containers or a transfer station about the load, and expect asbestos documentation before disposal.
When & how
There is no city collection day for construction material. Arrange a container with the hauler or self haul to a transfer station once the asbestos documentation question is settled.
Get it ready
Keep the material out of the cleanup day pile because it is refused there, and get the asbestos testing and documentation the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality requires before construction, demolition or remodeling debris is disposed of, since transfer stations will not accept suspect asbestos-containing material without it.

Four categories are refused, and freon appliances are the important one

The cleanup flyer carries an unacceptable list that shapes the rest of this guide. Construction debris such as concrete, plaster and dirt is refused. Oversized items such as pianos and hot tubs are refused. Tires are refused. And appliances containing freon, such as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners, are refused, which separates them from the washers, dryers, water heaters, stoves and other large appliances without freon that the same flyer accepts. The acceptable side also names small appliances such as toaster ovens, electronics including televisions, DVD and VCR players, stereo equipment, speakers, computers, monitors, printers and lamps, and mattresses in all sizes with foundations and box springs, so a household has to sort its load against both lists before calling.

Everything the cleanup day refuses has a published home elsewhere

Electronics do not depend on the annual cleanup day, because Oregon E-Cycles collection sites take up to seven qualifying devices at a time for free recycling under a statewide programme, and paint has its own free route through PaintCare, which recycles paint, primers, stains and sealers at no fee. Household chemicals go to the Metro South Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 2001 Washington St in Oregon City, open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, and the Metro find a recycler tool and 503-234-3000 answer anything unclear. Renovation material goes through the hauler's cleanup containers or a self hauled load to a county transfer station, where the Clackamas County Transfer Station at 19600 SE Canyon Valley Rd in Sandy is open Thursday to Monday with a last load at 4:30 p.m. and the Metro South Transfer Station in Oregon City is open daily, with both closed on the three holidays, and where the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality requires asbestos testing and documentation before construction, demolition or remodeling debris can be disposed of.

Self haul to a county transfer station

A household with a renovation load, tires, or material the cleanup day will not take.

Cost & conditions
The county publishes the station addresses and hours but not the stations' gate fees, and the county's franchise fee schedule applies to unincorporated areas and two other cities rather than to West Linn, so confirm the rate for the load directly with the station before travelling.
Arrange it
Use the Clackamas County Transfer Station at 19600 SE Canyon Valley Rd in Sandy, open Thursday to Monday with a last load at 4:30 p.m., or the Metro South Transfer Station at 2001 Washington St in Oregon City, open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from March through September and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from October through February.

Both close on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, the Sandy station also closes at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and suspect asbestos-containing construction material is refused without the required documentation.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

West Linn keeps large items inside a single annual program and then leans on county and statewide routes for everything that program refuses. West Linn Refuse & Recycling, the city's franchised hauler, runs a Personalized Clean-up Day for residential customers inside city limits with an account in good standing, scheduled once within the calendar year by calling 503-557-3900 at least a week before the regular collection day. Appliances, electronics, mattress sets, furniture, metal items, carpet and up to five refuse cans can be placed out, but participation is one of four published allowances: five bags or bundles of non-putrescible items at up to 60 pounds each, up to two large bulky appliances, two large bulky items, or five items of e-waste, and additional items may be scheduled for an extra fee. The flyer's unacceptable list is the reason the other routes exist. Construction debris such as concrete, plaster and dirt is refused, oversized items such as pianos and hot tubs are refused, tires are refused, and appliances containing freon such as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are refused while washers, dryers, water heaters and stoves without freon are accepted. For the refused material the published routes are county and statewide: Oregon E-Cycles collection sites take up to seven qualifying electronics at a time for free recycling, PaintCare recycles paint, primers, stains and sealers at no fee, the Metro South Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 2001 Washington St in Oregon City takes household chemicals daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. except the three major holidays, and self hauled loads can go to the Clackamas County Transfer Station at 19600 SE Canyon Valley Rd in Sandy, open Thursday to Monday with a last load at 4:30 p.m., or to the Metro South Transfer Station on the same Oregon City site, open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the warmer months and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in winter, with asbestos testing and documentation required before construction, demolition or remodeling debris is disposed of. County transfer station

Clackamas County Transfer Station

19600 SE Canyon Valley Rd, Sandy, OR 97055

Self hauled household garbage, recycling and yard debris, with the county listing yard waste facilities separately and refusing suspect asbestos-containing construction material without documentation

Suspect asbestos-containing construction, demolition or remodeling material is refused without the asbestos testing and documentation the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality requires, the station closes Tuesday and Wednesday, and weather can close facilities so the county asks residents to call ahead.

Thursday to Monday, 9 a.m. to a last load at 4:30 p.m. on the county page, closed Tuesday and Wednesday as the hauler's page states, and closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day with a 1 p.m. closing on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve; the hauler also publishes the weekday closing as 5 p.m., so confirm the current hours on 503-260-1577

The county publishes the station hours but not its gate fees, so confirm the rate for the load on 503-260-1577. Note that the county's published franchise fees, which include tire handling and bulky waste charges, apply to unincorporated areas and the cities of Happy Valley and Barlow rather than to West Linn.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in West Linn.

How much does construction debris removal cost in West Linn?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in West Linn?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Will the cleanup day take renovation debris?

No. Construction debris such as concrete, plaster and dirt is on the flyer's unacceptable list for the Personalized Clean-up Day. Renovation material instead goes through the hauler's cleanup containers, which West Linn Refuse & Recycling lists among its services on 503-557-3900, or a self hauled load to a county transfer station, and either route requires the asbestos testing and documentation that the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality demands before construction, demolition and remodeling debris is disposed of.Official guidance

When can I self haul a load?

The Clackamas County Transfer Station at 19600 SE Canyon Valley Rd in Sandy is open Thursday to Monday, which the county publishes as 9 a.m. to a last load at 4:30 p.m. while the hauler's page prints 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The Metro South Transfer Station at 2001 Washington St in Oregon City is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from March through September and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from October through February. Both close on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, the Sandy station also closes at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and the county publishes hours rather than gate fees, so the rate has to be confirmed with the station.Official guidance

Does renovation debris need paperwork?

Yes. Clackamas County states that the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality requires asbestos testing and documentation before disposal of construction, demolition and remodeling debris, and that transfer stations will not accept suspect asbestos-containing materials without documentation. That is separate from the cleanup day, which refuses construction debris such as concrete, plaster and dirt outright.Official guidance
