Roll carts are serviced weekly and are for household garbage only, and the city collects only from the containers it furnishes, not from personal containers. The ordinance requires carts to be removed from the curb no later than 7:30 p.m. on the day of collection, and carts should sit three feet from trees, mailboxes, vehicles and the recycling cart because the fleet is a mix of automated and semi-automated trucks.
Yard trimmings and bulk items are one separate stream, with building material charged
Yard trimmings combine grass clippings, leaves, sticks, bulk items such as furniture, clothing and rigid plastics, and building material that is subject to a charge. Loose or bagged leaves and branches under six feet are accepted, bricks, concrete and other building material must be separated from yard waste, tree removal and lot clearing are also charged, and yard trimmings and bulk items stay out of the roll cart.
