Crews take up to four tires off the rim from the curb, and the landfill accepts tires no larger than a 19.5 truck tire with the rim removed.

From $5 each tire for a landfill load of fewer than six tires. Tires must be off the rim and no larger than a 19.5 truck tire. Larger loads are charged by weight at the whole, cut or shredded rate; curbside pickup is capped at four tires.

Get it ready
Take the tire off the rim first. At the landfill, whole and cut tires are charged by weight, shredded tires carry a lower tonnage rate, and loads under six tires are charged each.
Placing a chargeable item at the curb is an agreement to pay
Kingsport lists certain bulky items as chargeable in chapter 86 of the annual fee resolution, and once a chargeable item is at the curb you have agreed to be billed for the collection. Ask about the amount before you set it out.

From $35 for a load under 1,000 pounds at the Kingsport landfill. Kingsport addresses receive 12,000 pounds a year with no tipping fee between July 1 and June 30 using a driver license or current water bill as proof of address. Anything beyond that allowance, and all commercial traffic, pays the published tonnage rate.

Kingsport's landfill at 1921 Brookside Lane is a demolition landfill for wood, metal, construction material, shingles, glass, furniture, block and brick, with a Sullivan County transfer station on the same site. City addresses may dump up to 12,000 pounds a year with no tipping fee using a driver license or current water bill as proof of address, and nine convenience centers take paper, cardboard, cans, glass and plastics. Televisions, monitors and laptops leave the city system for a Sullivan County transfer station, and household hazardous waste is collected once a year by Sullivan County Solid Waste and the State of Tennessee. Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Checkout shows the available dates for your address. Your booking is for a pickup day, rather than an exact arrival window. We send updates and photos after collection.
Where should I put my items?+
Use an accessible outdoor spot you are allowed to use, and follow the instructions in your confirmation. Keep sidewalks, entrances and vehicle access clear. You arrange any indoor carrying. For a loading dock or a short building access window, confirm the setup with our team before booking.
