A clear count. An exact price.

Count the bags and boxes, not everything inside.

A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.

Filled bags and boxes

Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.

Empty cardboard and containers

Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.

Furniture and other larger items

Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

Accepted with preparation

Furniture, sofas, carpets and rugs, large toys and similar bulky household items are collected every other week on the regular collection day.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included with the TDS residential service under the city contract, within the four cubic yard limit for each bulky round. The city publishes no separate per item charge for material inside that limit.
When & how
Put bulky items out on the every other week bulky day, which falls on the same day as the weekly trash collection. Carts and material belong at the curb by 7:00 a.m.
Get it ready
Keep the pile organized and secure loose parts such as cushions, appliance doors and wires, place it at least five feet from mailboxes, water meters, vehicles and low hanging wires, and keep the whole round inside four cubic yards.

Mattresses and box springs

Special rules apply

The curbside bulky list does not name mattresses, so the published route is a Hays County collection center, where mattresses and box springs carry a set fee.

City cost & eligibility
From $30 for the published Hays County disposal fee for each mattress or box spring at the Driftwood or Wimberley collection center, effective October 1, 2026. Hays County residents hauling to a county collection center. The city contract does not name mattresses in the curbside bulky list, so confirm with TDS customer care before setting one out.
When & how
Take the mattress to the Driftwood center on FM 150 or the Wimberley center on Carney Lane, open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or ask TDS whether a curbside bulky round can take it.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and ask about the curbside route before it goes to the curb, because the bulky list names furniture, carpets, lawn equipment, large toys and large appliances rather than bedding. At the county center the same fee applies to each mattress or box spring.

Appliances and white goods

Accepted with preparation

Large appliances ride the bulky round, and a unit that holds refrigerant has to have the freon removed and tagged by a licensed technician before collection.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included with the TDS residential service inside the four cubic yard bulky limit, once the appliance is prepared the way the guidelines require. Appliances taken to a county collection center instead carry the county's published fee.
When & how
Set the appliance out on the every other week bulky day, which is the same day as the weekly trash collection, with the unit at the curb by 7:00 a.m.
Get it ready
Remove the freon from any appliance that holds refrigerant and have it tagged by a licensed technician, secure appliance doors and wires, and drain oil and gas from lawn equipment. Hays County charges separately for refrigerators, freezers, air conditioning units, washers, dryers and water heaters if the unit is hauled to a collection center instead.

Televisions and electronics

Special rules apply

The curbside contract does not take electronics, and Hays County publishes a fee for televisions at its collection centers.

City cost & eligibility
From $15 for the published Hays County disposal fee for a television under 45 inches, with $30 for a television over 45 inches, effective October 1, 2026. Hays County residents hauling to the Driftwood or Wimberley collection center. The curbside contract does not accept electronics, so there is no city rate to quote.
When & how
Take the screen to the Driftwood center on FM 150 or the Wimberley center on Carney Lane, open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and unload by 4 p.m. with large loads arriving before 3:30 p.m.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the trash cart, because the contract limits curbside collection to the contents of the cart and refuses hazardous and non compactable material. The county fee applies per television, and computers and small electronics are not on the county's accepted recycling list, so ask the attendant before unloading.

Other bulky items and yard waste

Accepted with preparation

The every other week bulky round takes household items that will not fit in a bag, and yard trimmings go out in the same round with their own preparation rules.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included with the TDS residential service, capped at four cubic yards per household for each bulky and yard waste round.
When & how
Put everything out on the every other week bulky day, which falls on the same day as the weekly trash collection, by 7:00 a.m.
Get it ready
Cut branches, trunks and brush under four feet, keep trunks under six inches in diameter, tie the bundles, and keep brush at least five feet from other objects. Never put tires, batteries, liquids, paint, chemicals, gravel, dirt, rocks, sand or construction debris in a bulky pile, and keep the combined bulky and yard trimmings inside four cubic yards.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

What the bulky pile must not contain

The bulky guidelines refuse hazardous items such as tires, batteries, liquids, paint and chemicals, refuse non compactable items such as gravel, dirt, rocks, sand and construction debris, and refuse anything placed on a roadway or street. Freon has to be removed from appliances and tagged by a licensed technician, loose items have to be secured, and the pile stays at least five feet from mailboxes, water meters, vehicles and low hanging wires.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Bulk junk removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Dripping Springs.

How much does bulk junk removal cost in Dripping Springs?

A trash bag is $59 as the first item and $10 additional. A filled household box is $59 as the first item. Add your actual items and quantities to see the combined price before booking. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; any applicable sales tax is shown before payment.

Can you pick up bags of junk today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the booked bags and boxes outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; the booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time.

Do I count every object inside a bag or box?

No. Count the filled bags or boxes using the matching choice. Books and media go in Filled household box; clothes, bedding and shoes go in Bag of clothes & bedding; packed toys have a Box of toys choice. Empty cardboard is separate, with individual empty boxes and bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Heavy, oversized or unusual contents need a photo review before booking.

Can you pick up a small loose pile of household junk?

Yes. Estimate how many trash bags the small household pile would fill, and bag or box as much as possible. Select furniture and other larger items separately. There is no extra charge just because the pile is loose. Send a photo first if the count or contents are unclear. A household Dumpster Bag choice does not accept construction debris.

Can I book bags, boxes and furniture together?

Yes. Select the bags and boxes, then add each larger item using its own catalog choice. The booking shows one combined price for the selected items. Move everything to an accessible outdoor spot before pickup; indoor carrying and sorting are not included. Keep anything you want to retain apart from the booked items and identify what goes in your photos and notes.

Where does a television go in Dripping Springs?

Not in the trash cart: the city contract limits curbside collection to the cart contents and refuses non compactable material. Hays County accepts televisions at its Driftwood and Wimberley collection centers for a published fee, from the smaller size up to the larger size, and asks drivers to unload by 4 p.m.Official guidance

How much bulky waste can go out at once?

Four cubic yards per household for each every other week round, counting bulky items and yard trimmings together. The guidelines illustrate a cubic yard and warn that anything beyond the limit will not be collected.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Dripping Springs?

Texas Disposal Systems collects for the city under contract, and it became the provider on July 1, 2025. Residents inside the city limits have to use TDS, while addresses in the extra territorial jurisdiction keep their own provider. Customer care is on (844) 873-7734.Official guidance

Hays County publishes the fees at its Driftwood and Wimberley collection centers, with construction material and brush priced by the cubic yard, mattresses and box springs at a set fee each, sofas and sectionals priced per piece, televisions from the smaller size to the larger size and appliances priced individually. The schedule takes effect on October 1, 2026, and cash, check and credit card are accepted.Official guidance

Is recycling required in Dripping Springs?
