Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named on the no-charge or fee lists, and a machine does not fit in a cart. A treadmill or similar piece is booked with Sanitation and confirmed against the bulky item definition, which covers non-putrescible waste over four feet long that is not on the excluded list.
City cost & eligibility
No published rate covers an exercise machine. Whether the piece rides the free bulky allowance or becomes a fee item, and whether its electronics need a separate route, is confirmed with Sanitation at 903-237-1250 before it goes out.
When & how
Call Sanitation before the machine goes to the curb, then set it out no earlier than the day before the scheduled bulky collection. A household that has used its four collections in the rolling twelve month period pays a collection fee instead.
Get it ready
Fold or tie down the deck and handles, pull off the console, screen or battery pack so those parts do not ride with the frame, and keep the machine dry and out of the carts. A heavy machine is easier to handle with the belt and motor removed, which also lets the frame go as metal if Sanitation confirms that route.
Book a bulky collection before anything goes to the curb
Schedule by calling Sanitation at 903-237-1250, sending a CitySend request or filling out the online form, then put the items out no earlier than the day before the collection. Placing items at the curb authorizes the pickup and counts against the four free collections in the rolling twelve month period, and material left after the eight cubic yards are collected has to come back onto the property.
Carts are out before 7:30 a.m. with everything inside them
Trash and recyclables have to fit fully inside the city-provided carts, and the carts need at least four feet of clearance from cars, trees, trailers and mailboxes, with nothing parked in front of them. Carts go out before 7:30 a.m. on the collection day, leaving them out the night before is allowed, and blocked or improperly placed carts are not serviced.
Recycling now runs one day after the scheduled trash day, and a blue-lidded cart put out early on trash day is skipped and serviced the following day. A cart with household trash or other non-recyclable material in it is tagged and can be removed from the property, so keep styrofoam, clothing, wood, yard waste, bags and food out of the blue cart.

Book a bulky item collection with the City of Longview
A household with furniture, lawn equipment or brush to clear, or a mattress, appliance, carpet or demolition piece that fits the fee list and the eight cubic yard limit.

No charge. Residential sanitation addresses inside Longview, four collections per rolling twelve month period at no additional charge for furniture, lawn equipment and brush; mattresses, appliances, carpet, construction material and demolition waste are fee items, and an extra collection after the four are used is billed to the sanitation account.

Eight cubic yards per collection, four collections per rolling twelve months, and loose garbage, hazardous material, liquids, dirt, rock, sand, glass, concrete, pallets, ceramic tile, sheet rock, roofing material, fencing, contractor material and refrigerant items cannot be collected. Undetected unauthorized material is returned to the address.

Self-hauled household and bulky loads from Longview addresses, waste tires that have been split, quartered or shredded, and appliances whose refrigerant has been recovered by a certified technician with the certification letter.
Oil and oil filters and lead acid batteries are not accepted, an unsplit tire is refused, a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioning unit without a certified refrigerant removal letter is refused, and by law every load must be tarped in transit. The sanitation customer discount does not apply to commercial waste.
Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The landfill charges a tipping fee, and Longview residents with sanitation service receive a discount whose current amount is quoted by Republic Services at 800-678-7274, so the amount is confirmed before the load is built.
