Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Special rules apply

The city's collection material does not name electronics and no city or county page names a household electronics route, so a television or computer has to be confirmed rather than assumed.

City cost & eligibility
No city page publishes an electronics route or a rate, and Hidalgo County's recycling page carries no household programme of its own, pointing instead to the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council's regional guide. Confirm with the Sanitation Department at 956-583-2564, or use the county's regional guide to find a drop-off location.
When & how
Call the Sanitation Department before the device goes out, because the monthly bulky collection does not name electronic items and there is no published drop-off in the city material.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from anything that stores it, and keep the device out of the trash container so the lid can shut. Ask the city or the county guide which of a television, monitor, computer or printer is accepted before loading it.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Mission households usually do not need to self-haul bulky material, because the city collects furniture, mattresses, appliances without Freon and other items too large for the container once a month on the brush and bulky route, with bulky items in a pile separate from the brush. Brush itself can be dropped free at the city site on South Conway with proof of residency, and household recyclables go to the mobile recycling trailers at 15th and Perkins Street or at the sanitation department on Abelino Farias, where the bins are open to the public. Electronics and household hazardous waste are not addressed in the city material and the county publishes no household programme, so those should be confirmed with the Sanitation Department on 956-583-2564 or checked against the regional solid waste and recycling guide before anything is loaded. Construction, demolition and remodeling debris, brick, concrete and dirt are not collected at the curb, and the city's own material sends residents to the Residential Waste Drop-Off Service at the Public Works Debris Area, 227 Abelino Farias in Mission, open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, where a fee that varies with the items being disposed is charged and proof of residency is required through a utility bill or a driver's licence showing a Mission address. 2026 Sanitation Department information booklet with container, brush and bulky rulesSanitation Department overview, frequency and contactHidalgo County recycling resources and regional guide

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Mission.

How much does TV removal cost in Mission?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Mission?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can a television go in Mission?

That is not published. Neither the city's sanitation material nor the county recycling page names a household electronics drop-off, and the county points residents to the regional solid waste and recycling guide instead. Call the Sanitation Department on 956-583-2564, or use the regional guide, before the device goes anywhere.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Mission?

The City of Mission Sanitation Department, which has served Mission since September 8, 2014 and collects from more than 22,000 homes twice every week with brush pickup once a month. The department can be reached at 956-583-2564, and residents can also report concerns through the city's 311 service.Official guidance

How should the container go out?

Put the container out the night before your service day or by 6 a.m. on the day, with the lid shut and no overloading, and no extra bags beside the container. Face the container toward the point of collection and leave three feet of clearance from fences, mailboxes, utility boxes and vehicles, and bag all trash so litter does not escape.Official guidance

Can I drop brush off instead of waiting for the collection?

Yes. Mission residents can drop brush free at 1400 S. Conway, open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon, with proof of residency such as a utility bill or driver's licence. Landscapers and contractors are not allowed to use the site.Official guidance

Where can I recycle in Mission?

The city parks mobile recycling trailers at 15th and Perkins Street and at the Sanitation Department, 105 Abelino Farias, and the bins are open to the public. The city does not publish an accepted materials list for the trailers, so call 956-583-2564 if you are unsure about an item.Official guidance
