Mattresses are accepted at the free quarterly drop-off events except at the New Braunfels Utilities Service Center site, and they are accepted for a fee at Mesquite Creek Landfill inside the same event programme.
City cost & eligibility
$43.3 per scheduled curbside bulky pickup, with the quarterly drop-off events free for mattresses except at the New Braunfels Utilities Service Center location. New Braunfels residential customers. Mattresses are refused at the New Braunfels Utilities Service Center event site and accepted for a fee at Mesquite Creek Landfill, and a curbside pickup that includes a mattress carries the non-refundable service fee.
When & how
Take the set to a quarterly drop-off event, choosing a site other than the New Braunfels Utilities Service Center, or submit a curbside bulky request online for the paid pickup.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and out of the trash cart, and keep it clear of the collection truck's lifting arm. Confirm the event site before you load, because one of the four published locations does not take mattresses.
Curbside bulky collection uses a large truck with a lifting arm, so everything has to be at the curb and fully accessible at the scheduled time with clear space around it. The service fee is non-refundable once the pickup is booked, and refunds are not issued if the items are moved before arrival, are not out when the crew arrives, or cannot be collected because access is blocked, placement is improper, or the load does not meet the programme requirements. Metal or glass items are not eligible.
The free Bulky Garbage Drop Off events run once a quarter at five sites, and a load has to match the accepted list: furniture, mattresses at most sites, whole passenger car tires without rims limited to four per resident, and other non-metal bulky items too large for the trash cart. Electronics, appliances, green waste, hazardous waste, regular garbage, scrap metal, construction and demolition material, fixtures and business trash are refused, with mattresses excluded at the New Braunfels Utilities Service Center site.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Scheduled curbside bulky pickup
Non-metal bulky household items such as furniture and mattresses that a resident would rather not haul to an event site.
Cost & conditions
$43.3 per scheduled curbside bulky pickup. New Braunfels residential customers. The fee is non-refundable once the pickup is scheduled, and items that are primarily metal or glass, such as appliances and mirrors, are not eligible.
Arrange it
Submit a bulky pickup request online, and a customer service representative will contact you about availability and restrictions before the collection day.
Metal or glass items are not eligible, so appliances and mirrors have to use the City Recycle Center. Refunds are not issued when items are moved before arrival, are not at the curb at service time, or cannot be collected because of blocked access, improper placement or a load that does not meet the programme requirements.
New Braunfels households can take bulky material to a free Bulky Garbage Drop Off event once a quarter, where furniture, mattresses at most sites and up to four passenger car tires without rims are accepted, or book a curbside bulky pickup for the published service fee if the load is not primarily metal or glass. Appliances without Freon and other mostly metal items go to the City Recycle Center on South Castell Avenue instead, free with proof of residency, and that center also takes cardboard and recyclables. Electronics are refused at both the events and the center, so that route needs the city to confirm it, and household chemicals go to the city's hazardous waste drop-off events rather than any cart or pile. Before you book
A few things worth knowing.
Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in New Braunfels.
How much does mattress removal cost in New Braunfels?+
The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.
Can I book same-day mattress pickup in New Braunfels?+
Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.
Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?+
The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.
Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.
Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?+
You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.
Where can a mattress go in New Braunfels?+
Mattresses are on the accepted list for the free Bulky Garbage Drop Off events that the city holds once a quarter, with one exception: they are not accepted at the New Braunfels Utilities Service Center location, and they are accepted for a fee at Mesquite Creek Landfill. Residents who would rather not haul the set can book a curbside bulky pickup and pay the published service fee.Official guidance
How does bulky collection work in New Braunfels?+
There are two routes. The free Bulky Garbage Drop Off events run once a quarter at five sites and take furniture, mattresses at most sites, whole passenger car tires without rims limited to four per resident, and other non-metal bulky items too large for the cart. The alternative is a scheduled curbside bulky pickup for the published service fee, which cannot take items that are primarily metal or glass, so appliances and mirrors are excluded.Official guidance
