Bulky and heavy waste

Accepted with preparation

Bulky and heavy waste such as appliances and furniture is collected on the first pickup day of the week, limited to five cubic yards per collection day.

City cost & eligibility
The city includes green and bulky waste pickup in the residential solid waste service and publishes no separate bulky charge, while the monthly residential rate is on the city rate schedule, so call the city on 832-595-3400 or GFL on 832-271-5187 and confirm the current rate and any charge for a load over the limit before setting the pile out.
When & how
Put bulky waste at the curb on the first pickup day of the week, which is either Monday or Tuesday depending on the route.
Get it ready
Keep the load to five cubic yards or less per collection day, remove refrigerant and doors from a refrigerator or freezer and place a professional tag on the item, and keep construction debris, hazardous waste and dead animals out of the pile entirely.

Scrap metal and appliances

Accepted with preparation

Scrap metal is refused in the recycling cart and goes to the Fort Bend County Recycle Center, which also takes household appliances with a per unit charge.

City cost & eligibility
From $5 for the minimum scrap metal charge at the Fort Bend County Recycle Center when special handling is needed, with household appliances at 5 dollars per unit when the unit does not hold refrigerant and 10 dollars per unit when it does. A residential user of the Fort Bend County Recycle Center at 1200 Blume Road in Rosenberg. Business, commercial and agricultural waste is not accepted, and the fee is based on container size rather than the quantity inside it.
When & how
Take the metal to the Fort Bend County Recycle Center on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday through Saturday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Get it ready
Keep scrap metal and wood out of the recycling cart because the flyer refuses them there, empty an appliance before the trip, and note that a unit holding refrigerant costs more than a non refrigerant appliance and cannot go out with the curbside pile unless its refrigerant and doors are removed and a professional tag is attached.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

The right of way window is set by ordinance

Nothing goes into the street right of way before noon the day before collection, carts have to be out no later than 7 a.m. on the collection day, and the emptied cart has to be off the right of way by 8 a.m. the following morning. Carts go at the curb with the wheels facing the house and the lid opening toward the street, four feet apart and four feet clear of mailboxes, cars and posts, and they stay at the curb until the end of the collection day because the arrival time can change.

Green and bulky waste share the first pickup day

Green waste and bulky waste are both collected on the first pickup day of the week, either Monday or Tuesday depending on the address, while the second trash day is for the cart only. The city publishes an address map so a household can confirm which route it is on before setting a pile out.

What never goes in a Rosenberg cart

The recycling cart takes plastics 1, 2 and 5, glass bottles and jars, metal cans and clean paper including cardboard and cartons, loose and with no bags. It does not take batteries, electronics, tires, scrap metal or wood, styrofoam, plastic bags and wrap, shredded paper, tanglers such as cords and hoses, food soiled items, ceramics, diapers, cups, hazardous waste or medical waste, and plastic bags go back to the grocery store. The county center takes several of those items, including electronics, tires, scrap metal, batteries and hazardous waste, and it refuses mattresses, furniture and plain trash.

A refrigerator needs its refrigerant and doors out first

A refrigerator or freezer set out as bulky waste must have its refrigerant and doors removed, with a tag from a professional placed on the item, and the load stays within the five cubic yard daily limit. A household that would rather haul the unit can take it to the Fort Bend County Recycle Center, where an appliance without refrigerant costs less per unit than one that holds it.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Scrap metal removal, from your photo request to the pickup plan in Rosenberg.

How do I request a scrap metal pickup quote?

Text photos to (844) 879-0892 with your ZIP code, approximate amount and access details. Show the whole pile and a closer view of the material. Our team will confirm the scope, quote and scheduling.

Do you buy scrap metal or pick it up for free?

This is a request for a paid removal quote, not a scrap-buying or free-collection offer. If you want to sell metal, ask a local recycler about its accepted materials and delivery requirements.

How much does scrap metal removal cost?

This service uses a custom quote. Send photos, the approximate amount, your ZIP code and access details. Our team confirms the scope and price before booking; there is no fixed-price catalog item for this pile.

Can you collect it today?

Tell our team your preferred day when you request the quote. Timing depends on the material, amount and access, and is confirmed with your quote. Sending photos does not reserve same-day pickup.
