Tires

Accepted with preparation

Tires are refused in the recycling cart and are accepted at the Fort Bend County Recycle Center, priced by size and by whether the tire is mounted.

City cost & eligibility
From $2 per dismounted passenger tire at the Fort Bend County Recycle Center, with a mounted passenger tire at 10 dollars, a dismounted truck tire at 10 dollars, a mounted truck tire at 20 dollars and off road tires charged by weight. A residential user of the Fort Bend County Recycle Center at 1200 Blume Road in Rosenberg. The center takes residential loads only, so business, commercial and agricultural waste is refused, and off road tire charges are set by weight rather than by piece.
When & how
Take the tires to the Fort Bend County Recycle Center on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday through Saturday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., and call 281-633-7581 if the load is unusual.
Get it ready
Keep tires out of both carts because the recycling flyer refuses them, separate passenger tires from truck tires before the trip because the price changes by size, and note that a mounted tire costs more than a dismounted one.

What never goes in a Rosenberg cart

The recycling cart takes plastics 1, 2 and 5, glass bottles and jars, metal cans and clean paper including cardboard and cartons, loose and with no bags. It does not take batteries, electronics, tires, scrap metal or wood, styrofoam, plastic bags and wrap, shredded paper, tanglers such as cords and hoses, food soiled items, ceramics, diapers, cups, hazardous waste or medical waste, and plastic bags go back to the grocery store. The county center takes several of those items, including electronics, tires, scrap metal, batteries and hazardous waste, and it refuses mattresses, furniture and plain trash.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Tire disposal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Rosenberg.

How much does tire disposal cost?

A non-commercial car or pickup-truck tire is $99 first and $20 additional. A commercial automotive tire up to 120 lb is $125 first and $55 additional. Count each tire separately.

How do I book a set of four tires?

Choose the matching tire type and set the quantity to four. The first tire uses the first-item price and the remaining three use the additional-item price. Review your total before payment.

Do you take tires still mounted on rims?

Text our team a photo before booking so we can confirm the scope and price for your setup.

Can my tire shop take the old tires?

Ask the tire retailer or your local waste authority about their collection options and requirements. If the tires are already at home, Dropcurb offers a separately booked outdoor pickup for the listed tire types.

Can I arrange same-day pickup?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Checkout shows the available dates for your address. Your booking is for a pickup day, rather than an exact arrival window. We send updates and photos after collection.

Where should I put my items?

Use an accessible outdoor spot you are allowed to use, and follow the instructions in your confirmation. Keep sidewalks, entrances and vehicle access clear. You arrange any indoor carrying. For a loading dock or a short building access window, confirm the setup with our team before booking.

Where can Rosenberg tires be dropped off?

At the Fort Bend County Recycle Center, 1200 Blume Road, which is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed Wednesdays and holidays. Tires are priced by size and by mounting: a dismounted passenger tire costs the least, a mounted passenger tire or a dismounted truck tire costs more, a mounted truck tire costs more again, and off road tires are charged by weight. Tires are refused in the recycling cart, and the center takes residential loads only.Official guidance

What does Rosenberg charge for garbage and for the drop off items?

Residential garbage service runs on one monthly rate that covers trash twice a week, weekly recycling, green waste and bulky waste, with a reduced rate for residents 65 and over, and no separate green or bulky charge is published. Everything that leaves the curbside stream is priced at the Fort Bend County Recycle Center instead, where televisions and monitors are charged by screen size, small electronics by the piece, appliances by whether the unit holds refrigerant, tires by size and mounting, scrap metal from a minimum when special handling is needed, and household or yard waste by the bag, while household hazardous waste and latex paint are free up to the 14 gallon annual tracking threshold.Official guidance

What cannot go in a Rosenberg cart?

The recycling cart refuses batteries of any kind, electronics, tires, scrap metal and wood, styrofoam and peanuts, plastic bags and wrap, shredded paper, tanglers such as cords, hoses and wires, food soiled items, ceramics, diapers, cups, hazardous waste, medical waste and plastics 3, 4, 6 and 7. The bulky pile refuses construction debris, hazardous waste and dead animals, and the county center that takes the drop off items refuses mattresses, furniture, plain trash, styrofoam, gas cylinders, medical waste, soil and explosives.Official guidance
