Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named in the city's bulky item definition, which is an item list rather than a size rule, so a machine is confirmed with Public Works before it goes out.
City cost & eligibility
No rate is published for exercise equipment and it is not on the bulky list, so confirm whether the machine can go out as a bulky item or needs the Pay Pile service or the Biosphere, with Public Works on 409-643-5810.
When & how
Confirm the route first, then set the machine out on the bulky day for the address or arrange the alternative the division gives.
Get it ready
Take the machine down as far as it will come apart, drain any water or oil reservoir, and keep the loose weights with the frame. Keep it out of the cart, and keep it clear of fences, meters, mailboxes and parked cars if it goes to the curb.
Bulky items are collected once a week on the day the city sets by route: Tuesday for Tuesday and Friday homes, Friday east of Farm to Market 2004 and Wednesday west of it for Wednesday and Saturday homes, and Thursday east of Highway 146 and Monday west of it for Monday and Thursday homes. The pile goes out no later than 7 a.m.
Bulky piles sit within five feet of the curb or the edge of the street, never beneath overhead wires or low hanging limbs, and never near fences, garbage carts, mailboxes, parked cars, trees or on top of water meters.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
A city residential solid waste customer with furniture, a mattress, a stove, a washing machine, a water heater, a tagged cooling appliance or a large empty box.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Bulky collection is part of the residential solid waste service for city customers, once a week, with no separate per item rate published.
Arrange it
Set the pile out by 7 a.m. on the bulky day for the address, within five feet of the curb or the edge of the street and clear of carts, meters, fences, mailboxes, parked cars, trees and overhead lines.
The bulky definition is an item list, so construction and building material is refused, electronics and tires are not named anywhere, and an appliance holding chlorofluorocarbons needs a certified technician tag before it can be set out. A load the crew treats as out of compliance goes to the Pay Pile service instead.
A household whose debris exceeds the regular bulky collection or does not meet the placement and content rules.

Arrange it
Call Public Works on 409-643-5810 to arrange the collection and follow the instructions the division gives for the pile.
Construction and building material does not go out with the weekly trash, so a project load is arranged with Public Works on 409-643-5810 for a published per cubic yard collection charge or delivered to the Biosphere Recycling Center with a current water bill.

Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
