The local disposal guide
Tyler runs bulky collection by request and keeps two of the pickups free. Each household on the curbside service may book two bulky pick-ups a calendar year at no charge through the online form, and the crew comes within five business days, as long as the pile stays inside six to eight cubic yards. Furniture, appliances, carpet, fencing material and old toys are the named bulky items, and anything the free route does not cover, including tires, loose brush, limbs, tree stumps and a pile bigger than eight cubic yards, moves to the special collection list, which starts at twenty dollars and rises with size and quantity. Bundled limbs under fifty pounds and four feet are free, and passenger tires without rims start at five dollars each. Trash itself is collected twice a week, Monday and Thursday in the northern half of the city and Tuesday and Friday in the southern half, with containers at the curb by six in the morning and never out before six the previous evening. The city-owned Greenwood Farms Landfill, off the Old Kilgore Highway, takes resident loads with a current utility bill, and the Downtown Recycle Center takes recycling free.
