City cost & eligibility
No charge. City of Victoria residential addresses that are billed for service, with the appliance inside one of the two six cubic yard bulky collections a year; a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioning unit additionally requires professional refrigerant removal with the business's sticker attached and visible on the item.

Book the bulky collection, and for a unit holding refrigerant arrange the professional removal first so the sticker is in place when the truck arrives at the confirmed date.
Get it ready
Empty and clean the unit, keep it out of the gray garbage cart, and make sure the removal sticker is attached where the crew can see it, because an appliance holding refrigerant without the sticker cannot be collected from the curb.
The gray cart needs a closed lid and five feet of room
Curbside garbage is collected weekly. The cart goes out before 7:00 a.m. with the wheels secure against the curb, or along the street facing the residence where there is no curb, and the lid must be completely closed or the cart is tagged and left. Carts sit five feet from surrounding obstacles on every side, only City of Victoria carts are serviced, and large items, hazardous waste and tree limbs are barred from the gray cart. Additional carts are available on request for a monthly charge each and require a one year commitment.
Book the bulky collection before the pile goes out
A bulky item collection is scheduled online or by calling (361) 485-3220, and nothing should go to the curb until the collection date is confirmed. Under the city code, bulky items may not sit at the curb more than forty eight hours before collection, and items left longer can be tagged with the address referred to code enforcement, which opens a case. Each household gets two six cubic yard collections a year at no additional charge.

A Victoria household with furniture, a mattress, an appliance, up to two cubic yards of minor construction debris, large miscellaneous items or up to four tires off the rim.
Cost & conditions
From $20 for service charge for a third or later bulky collection in a year, plus a per minute charge on the part of any collection that exceeds six cubic yards, with the first two collections of up to six cubic yards each year included at no additional charge and every charge billed on the next water bill. City of Victoria residential addresses that are billed for service; vacant lots and unoccupied homes that are not billed are not eligible.

Arrange it
Request the extra cart from the city, keep it at the curb under the same 7:00 a.m. set-out and five foot clearance rules as the first cart, and keep the lid completely closed on collection day.
The extra cart is for ordinary household garbage only, since large items, hazardous waste and tree limbs are refused in the gray cart, and the one year commitment applies to the monthly charge.

Yes. Add one Washing machine and one Dryer so both units are included in the price. They are separate items, even when you bought them as a set. If yours is a single combined unit or the machines still need to be unstacked, contact us before booking to confirm the scope.
Will you disconnect my appliance or carry it out?+
Dropcurb picks up appliances that are already disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange uninstallation, utility disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Use a qualified professional for gas, hardwired or plumbing connections when needed. We handle loading and haul-away from the outdoor pickup spot.
Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
What has to happen before an old refrigerator goes out?+
The refrigerant comes out first, professionally, and the sticker from the business that removed it has to be attached and visible on the unit, or the appliance cannot be collected. How long can bulky items stay at the curb?+
No more than forty eight hours before the confirmed collection date. The city asks residents to schedule first so the date is known, and items left at the curb longer may be tagged with the address turned over to code enforcement, which opens a case.
