- Book the bulky collection and put the material out within forty eight hours of the confirmed date, keeping the construction portion to two cubic yards or less.
- Get it ready
- Keep fencing, planks, boards, carpeting, flooring, siding and sheetrock bundled or boxed so the pile is stable, keep anything toxic or asbestos containing out of it entirely, and remember that a larger renovation is beyond the residential allowance.

Curbside garbage is collected weekly. The cart goes out before 7:00 a.m. with the wheels secure against the curb, or along the street facing the residence where there is no curb, and the lid must be completely closed or the cart is tagged and left. Carts sit five feet from surrounding obstacles on every side, only City of Victoria carts are serviced, and large items, hazardous waste and tree limbs are barred from the gray cart. Additional carts are available on request for a monthly charge each and require a one year commitment.

Under the city code, bulky items may not sit at the curb more than forty eight hours before collection, and items left longer can be tagged with the address referred to code enforcement, which opens a case. Each household gets two six cubic yard collections a year at no additional charge.
