Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Accepted with preparation

Televisions and computer monitors go through the at-your-door household hazardous waste service rather than the bulky route.

Hazardous waste and electronics are a doorstep service

Hazardous waste cannot be collected as a bulky item. It goes through the at-your-door special waste service the city contracts to Waste Management: call 1-800-449-7587 with the address and the type and amount of material, a kit is mailed so the material can be packed, and a truck collects it from the doorstep on an agreed date. The service runs all year as often as a household needs it, and it also takes televisions, monitors, consumer electronics with circuit boards, batteries, bulbs, used motor oil and sharps in a rigid container.

A household with paint, chemicals, batteries, bulbs, used motor oil, sharps, a television, a monitor or consumer electronics with circuit boards.

Cost & conditions
The service is contracted to Waste Management and the city publishes no fee, so confirm the charge when the collection is booked on 1-800-449-7587.
Arrange it
Call 1-800-449-7587 with the address and the type and amount of material, wait for the mailed kit, pack the material as instructed, and leave it at the doorstep for the truck on the agreed date.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Victoria's retained pages do not name a self-haul landfill or transfer station, so this packet carries no drop-off facility. What the city does publish is a doorstep and curbside system: garbage is collected weekly in the gray city cart with the lid closed, bulky items are collected by appointment with two six cubic yard collections a year included for a billed household, and hazardous waste plus televisions, monitors and consumer electronics with circuit boards are collected at the doorstep by Waste Management under the at-your-door special waste contract on 1-800-449-7587. Residents with questions about what is accepted, how a collection is booked, or how to handle an unusual item call the solid waste division on (361) 485-3220 or use the city Waste Wizard, and the division office is at 700 Main Center, Suite 124, Victoria, Texas 77901. Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
