Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Get it ready
Take the machine down as far as it comes apart so it can be handled safely, and keep it within the three large item allowance for the pickup.
Place all items at the front curb by 7 a.m. on the appointment day, keep them clear of vehicles, buildings, power lines and trees, and put out only the items disclosed when the collection was scheduled. Call at least one business day ahead to cancel or change the appointment, and allow the whole business day because two trucks may be assigned.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

No charge. Tacoma residential Solid Waste customers may schedule two curbside pickups or self-hauls a year with the cost already built into residential rates. Multifamily and commercial customers are charged $115 for a single pickup and $230 for a double pickup.

Call the city on (253) 573-2468, disclose the items, and set them at the front curb by 7 a.m. on the appointment day.
Household garbage, recyclables, food, liquids, hazardous waste, televisions, computers, monitors, building material, fencing, roofing, cars, tires, vehicle parts, trailers, canopies, yard waste and pallets are refused, and an over-limit set out becomes a double pickup.
Tacoma households that move their own loads use the Tacoma Recovery & Transfer Center at 3510 S. Mullen Street, where the transfer center and recycle center are open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Bring proof of Tacoma residency to qualify for the residential disposal rate, unload at the scale, and pay by cash, credit card or check. The disposal charge depends on the weight of the load, and a load needing special handling carries an extra fee. The same site holds the household hazardous waste facility, which is free for Tacoma residents and open Friday through Monday, and the recycle center. Liquid and hazardous material cannot go in a garbage load, and transporting waste for others requires a special hauling permit. Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
