Get it ready
Remove batteries, gasoline, oil and other fluids from any power equipment before set-out, and use the appliance pickup rather than the bulky day for a large appliance because the city states that appliances collected through the regular appliance pickup are recycled while appliances collected through the bulky item pickup go to the landfill.
Items containing freon, including refrigerators, freezers and air conditioning units, are on the not accepted list for the free bulky pickup. The routes are the annual free appliance pickup arranged with the hauler, or a transfer station where the operator charges a special handling fee.

Get it ready
Empty the unit and keep it off the curb for the bulky pickup, because freon appliances are refused there. Ask the hauler about the appliance pickup, and note that the transfer station charges a special handling fee for a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner on top of the disposal rate.
The free bulky pickup is requested through the RecycleRight app or web tool by selecting the chair icon, choosing up to five items and a date, entering contact details, describing any other items and confirming the request. The confirmation email carries a link to change or cancel before the pickup day.
Items go to the curb by 6 a.m. on the scheduled pickup day without blocking traffic, bike lanes or sidewalks. Households that normally use alley collection set out at the curb for this pickup, and if the items are not out in time a return trip can be scheduled with fees possibly applying.
Yard debris, tires, concrete and construction or demolition material, electronic waste including computers, televisions and cell phones, anything that may contain asbestos, household hazardous waste including bulbs, paint and chemicals, and anything containing freon are all refused in the city bulky programme. Those loads go to a transfer station or a household hazardous waste window instead.

The household hazardous waste window at this site runs Friday and Saturday only from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the operator prints the hazardous waste hours rather than the general transfer station window in the retained body, so confirm the rest on 360-737-1727 before a trip.

Can you take a washing machine and dryer in one pickup?+
Yes. Add one Washing machine and one Dryer so both units are included in the price. They are separate items, even when you bought them as a set. If yours is a single combined unit or the machines still need to be unstacked, contact us before booking to confirm the scope.
Will you disconnect my appliance or carry it out?+
Dropcurb picks up appliances that are already disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange uninstallation, utility disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Use a qualified professional for gas, hardwired or plumbing connections when needed. We handle loading and haul-away from the outdoor pickup spot.
Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
